I think he/she means PPR not COPR. The two are easy to mix up. One lets you land and the other is just a request for your passport. It's possible they need to mail it to Vienna because that is where the Visa will be issued not in Ottawa. To the Original Poster, I would just follow the directions you received in the email exactly as it says.

thats indeed what i mean the PPR, i stil wonder why they need the orginel passpoort since iam living in a visa exempt country, but i wil just send the passpoort to vienna and we wil see what happens ;D

thank you

All these people checking their emails and mail boxes....can I just get a DM....please.... :'(

Hang in there it should change soon! How long have you been in background check? For us August applicants, it took about 8-9 weeks before we got DM. Usually its only 3-4 weeks but for some reason Ottawa slowed down recently.

VOH :D,

booked flight, all set now to see snow :D

Cheers!

All right! How long did it take from sending the passport to getting the VOH?

I too came from visa exempt country but was asked to send passport n 2 passport photos. A friend of mine who got her PR 2 yrs back (visa exempt country) said she too was asked to send and she did send her passport and make sure you include prepaid Xpresspost from only Canada Post to get it return. Good luck everyone. We are so close to getting our PR

Hi everyone, I have a question. My file is in paris now and they requested more documentation. I have been aproved as a Sponsor and now its husband's turn. How long after extra documentation for permanent resident does PPR happen? I dont have access for mycic, so im not sure where they are in the process. Any insight? Thanks everyone!

Depends on what the extra documentation is.

If it's a scan of his passport and two new photos, it could be imminent. If it's evidence of your ongoing relationship, it could be months.

Good point!

They're asking about a one year timeline of specificed dates. That's the only request they're making. What he was doing between the dates.

I'm in the same boat as you, applied in August, approved and file was sent to Paris, now in process... just sitting here waiting. However I ordered my GCMS notes and just got them yesterday and found some useful comments written in them that will help us prepare for the interview that they have indicated they are recommending ::) ... Good to know in advance, we were hoping it might be waived but looks like it won't.

As for timeline it's anyone's guess. Based on how quiet the Paris Office thread is, they don't move super fast over there. Maybe its because they are processing applications from various countries with heightened security risks so it takes longer? What additional documents did they ask you for at this point? The nature of the information they want might help with figuring out where they are at. Did you already send it to them?

Hmm, hard to tell how much longer then but its a good sign that they are at least actively reviewing everything and just want some clarification. You could order GCMS notes if you haven't already that might be useful. If only you could access mycic it might be able to tell you if your background check is in progress yet.

Ah, then could be a while if more security checks are needed. Did you have a problem with the initial forms (where every period of time had to be accounted for)? Gaps in there?

The dates that they are asking for, where dates that I had already accounted for (without gaps) in the original application. That's why I am slightly confused as to why they are requesting the same dates? Potentially they need more detail which i am supplying. But i did have those dates covered.
