just a quick question, from the time that they recieved your medical how long it took before they ask for your passport? because on my husband's application it says that they already recieved his medical. i just wanted to have an idea how long normally it takes from that point.

Got my Passport back from processing center. Only 2 working days after I submitted it!

I am stucked in an unexpectedly horrible situation. i applied to sponsor my spouse. They refused my sponsorship stating i didnot declare my marriage during processing of my permanent residence application. However i did notify both offices twice regarding my marriage. Also since i selected to continue processing of my application even if i cannot sponsor thereby they are continuing the Spouse evaluation (Part II).

I have email communication as evidence that i notified them of my marriage. But i dont know how to resolve this. I send a case specific enquiry with attached evidences. Please advice if anyone faced this situation and how can i handle it. :'( :'( :'( :'(

I'm sorry to hear this. As another has said above, you needed to amend your application to include your spouse when your application was being processed. Notifying CIC by email was not enough. Because of this, you may need to renounce your PR and file your own application for PR again; this time including your spouse. That is probably the only way you will be able to sponsor your spose. You should consult a lawyer in this case.

After crying a while ago, BC is now in progress! I can't believe it! I have no update in my email. So check your MY CIC guys! God Bless Us all!!!

I am really hoping to get updates this month. I know it is just a matter of sending AOR2 requirements. I sent mine November 2nd, and probably you are right, our applications are coming next. Good luck and God bless!

Hang in there! I personally am giving it at least 4 weeks before I get anxious. I've seen it take 4+ weeks for many people so I'm not expecting any miracles!

Keep in mind when they put your background check in process your file likely has nearly finished, pending background approval. Since this process is not instant, they put your file back at the bottom of a stack (or so I've heard) and once it comes back to the top, if the background check is done, you will get your approval; otherwise it goes back down to the bottom again. This is what I've been told by others; that being said it can vary from agent to agent depending on the stack he or she is working on. Hence why for some they get approval only a few days later and for some several weeks/months later! Also if your background check takes longer for whatever reason (extra countries lived/visited in, etc) it may not be done by the time your file is on the top of the stack and may be replaced at the bottom. Also those with NEXUS already have their background check on file by the Canadian authorities and so usually get approval very very quickly. All these factors go into play!

OOOOh we have nexus and we're in background check and a bunch of september files just got decisions. i'm soooo excited!!!!!

hi,
give us 3 dates:
1) date when you legally contracted the marriage: 26- Feb
2) date when you started you RP process:29th Jan
3) date when you became a RP: 14th june 2016
4) do you have any kids with your spouse ? No
5) what have you filled on the RP forms about your marital status ? Unmarried as on 29th Jan. Then i couldnot change the details since everything was submitted. So i resubmitted family information form along with the notification.

plz answer all these points...i have my little idea to get you out of this crappy situation INSHALLAH !
