Just checked the status of my husband's MyCIC profile and I just saw that his background check is already In Process! Praise God! Praying for his PPR soon! We're really praying for him to be here before I give birth. In Jesus' Name! ☺️

Agreed. Glad we beat the rush. However I think it's just a lot of talk. They talk like anyone can just pick up and move here. Ask anyone of us - not that simple.

It's been interesting to see evidence of the panic by this forum being down. My american hubbie said to me in the summer, we have to get it in before the election. And we did, thankfully. It's been a strange comfort knowing I'm getting one of them out

We are the same way. Maybe all this 'talk' of a flood of US immigrants will make them want to work super fast on the US cases that are currently pending. I know, I know, wishful thinking. Haha A girl can dream, can't she. LOL

congrats

I am having panic attacks after the election. I talked with immigration consultant and he said I shouldn't have anything to worry about! I hope he is right.

I have gathered all the documents and need to start putting it together. I know that income is not mandatory, but I am nervous, that my part-time hours will show I am not able to support my husband financially, HELP. I will include a large portion of the intentions (getting to full-time work and getting a job in my field). From someone who has already submitted/approved, can you comment on this, that with my part time work hours how will this effect me?

My husband does not have a large income at the moment - he's self-employed but it ends up equating to part time really. We did include a letter from his parents stating that we'll be living with them initially and that they're supportive of the marriage. He also included some evidence of his savings accounts. We didn't provide any specific written plan as to getting full time jobs, or what fields we would be in, etc. He was approved as a sponsor with no issues (well, except for the fact that the e-mail took forever to come, but that had nothing to do with the approval itself and more to do with CIC's e-mail system not sending it out properly).

Hey, don't worry about your income, more just your intentions. Unless there are dependents involved in your case, income doesn't matter. That's what our lawyer told us. Havin a job and intentions to be long in Canada as the sponsor is important, to show ties and reason to be in Canada matters but the income does not. I have friends who got approved and the sponsor didn't even have a job lined up and was out of the country. She just showed she had intention of looking for work once she got home. hope that helps :)

It's actually dependents of dependents (i.e. grandchildren). For instance, my husband didn't have to meet the minimum to sponsor me and my daughter, who just turned 11. If she had a child of her own (which is a terrifying thought), then that would factor in.

PPR for my husband just now!! Woohoo!! Thank you Lord!! Praise God!!! ☺️
