Lawd.

Called CIC today to confirm that they had received the requested documents, and was told that it was not acceptable, according to the file.

They asked for a copy of official identification, and I sent a copy of the MOST official ID document from my home country (the same one that was sent along with the application in notarized format).

Looks like CIC doesn't realize that other countries have different types of ID documents.

Not sure what to do now... I have some time, but I was REALLY hoping to get this all done and dusted soon!

I've already sent an explanation of what the document is, with links to the government website related. Do I leave it at that? Contact the minister? Lodge a complaint? Contact MY consulate to get confirmation that the document is official?

Wouldn't a passport be official? May want to try that.

I tried to call CIC 3 times no one told me decision. No one asked any detail just said no............

The call centre is hit or miss. My first call experience was fantastic, the gentleman asked my information and was very forthcoming about the stage of the application and what has been processed.

The second time I called I had a tough talking agent who refused to even ask my name, actively refused to accept the information I provided. I asked all questions about 3-4 times before giving up. My reason for calling was serious, I had an error on my medical and wanted assistance in clarifying it, but the following days ECAS said "medical received" so I assume everything went through fine.

So... You have to call back several times if you need further assistance until you reach someone willing to help at times. Its kind of sad they don't have better customer service skills for such an important contact centre. The people who call CIC aren't calling about a cell phone bill or some other typical issue, these are future life issues that have a profound impact on us all and more agents should accept that and work with us.

I had bad experience with cic call centre agent too ! I called 3 times ! Everytime they refused to take my information and check my status !!

Indeed. Except I am talking about ID for my kid's bio dad, who doesn't have a passport.

Hence the question.

Sorry, I didn't realize the context of the ID requirement. Best of luck.

Hello Everyone,

Got an Update today on Ecas. It turned into IP today, though it shows that it started processing file on May 27th, 2015. I got RPRF request on May 27th, 2015, Paid it on 28th and sent them copy along with additional docs as they have requested on May 28th, 2015. I sincerely hope all of you guys get RPRF and IP soon and finally come to an end of this long journey for PR.

All the best and Good luck... ;D ;D ;D ;D
