Called CIC today to confirm that they had received the requested documents, and was told that it was not acceptable, according to the file.
They asked for a copy of official identification, and I sent a copy of the MOST official ID document from my home country (the same one that was sent along with the application in notarized format).
Looks like CIC doesn't realize that other countries have different types of ID documents.
Not sure what to do now... I have some time, but I was REALLY hoping to get this all done and dusted soon!
I've already sent an explanation of what the document is, with links to the government website related. Do I leave it at that? Contact the minister? Lodge a complaint? Contact MY consulate to get confirmation that the document is official?
