Congratulations to you and your husband!have a safe trip too! Yours is fast!you got passport request feb and got it back so quick thi march..ours is not yet still. :'( but still hoping for this month..I miss my husband alot

Congrats to those that are getting DM and visa issued, seems August applicants are starting to see action , except those from the Manila office which is no big surprise. As another week has passed for me without no update on ecas again , now like 9 weeks after PPR but I have never had an ecas update since the beginning. Oh well there is always next week. I hope those who got visa have a safe trip to where ever there new life takes them . Enjoy :)

Definitely congrats. You certainly beat the posted processing time by a mile!! Vienna is 17 months. My VO is 9 months and still waiting...definitely no logic in the times to process for sure!

amazes me that the embassy in manila say they won't answer questions until the 17 months has expires and you should just assume your application is complete and you should just check the ecas, especially since they don't seem to update the ecas.

I'm happy to report that I received my email from the VO that my Visa is ready to be picked up by courier (at my own cost of course). All arranged and emailed shipping label to VO to have them send it to me UPS. :D

ECAS still showing "application received" :'(

Yessss!!! This is great news!!! Congratulations to you and good luck in Canada :D

As far as ECAS is concerned... Idk how to explain that... I called my VO last week and they told me that they are doing my background checks...but my ECAS has been showing application recieved until now. :o

ECAS status changes are dependant on the visa office and visa officer handling the file. It's certainly not consistent and there are many applicants who stay in "application received" even after they've received approval or even landed.

For ottawa, before the holidays, ECAS wouldn't change to In Process until the visa was ready to be issued. Generally, if passport, rprf or other documents were requested, status did not change until Ottawa received the requests and were ready to issue the visa. DM means the visa was mailed out. ECAS is not a true indication of what's happening with your file. Most applicants are already aware of any updates/requests before status changes.

Most of the filipinos i know in the forum who had passport request last January didnt get any updates in their ecas. If i can`t hear from CEM by April i need to request the return of my passport so i can apply for an extension of my work permit here in UAE.

I pretty much gave up checking ECAS seeing its so inconsistent, just hoping to hear anything at all from them soon

Could I ask what number you used to call the Ottawa VO? I was under the impression we could only email them. I applied on 09/10/14 and my notes show that my security checks have not been started yet. I wonder if I called if I would get a different story. thank you in advance.

Received our Approval March 2. Actually didn't receive any notice, and were back in the USA visiting family, so found out about it at the border crossing when we returned to Canada. Exciting. I know this means lots of us will start to hear something. Good luck to everyone else in the journey!

awesome. have you gotten your copr in the mail?

Hi.. I am a november applicant and I thought someone from here might have some information about my question.
So, we already got SA and app has been transferred to VO abroad.
Yesterday, I got an email requesting this: Certified Criminal Record Check (Civil Fingerprinting Screening) issued by the RCMP.
I am going to get that done on Monday.
I was wondering how long it takes to get the results since it's for immigration purpose?
On the police website it says: If you need the Criminal Record search for school or employment reasons remember the process can take upwards of 12 to 16 weeks to complete. So I guess it won't take 12-16 weeks because it's for immigration purpose, am I right?
did anyone go through this?
