Congratulations!! We, on the other hand, have been patient, but have not received SA yet. We re-submitted our August form, and according to postal confirmation it was delivered on September 12. After MANY attempts, my husband was just able to talk to someone at CIC who indicated that we have to wait. :(

You most likely will hear the day after they gave you to summit the forms . So for e.g if they gave you 45 days to comply ,count back from the day you received the email. That's most likely when you will get SA.

Congrats Poutine!

I got SA last week and my application was sent to London. It remains to be seen if this means I will wait longer than applications being sent to Ottawa/Mississauga.

Good luck with stage 2!

Oh that's a definite. We will be waiting much longer . Mine got sent August 5th nothing yet . Not even an AOR .

While I understand we are at the mercy of CIC, and that everyone has to wait and everyone wants to be with their loved one(s), work and live in Canada etc, I struggle to accept that people can apply at around the same time, provide equal levels of documentation proving their relationship is genuine, and yet it comes down to a lottery of where your application goes that decides your fate.

I totally agree .People who applied the same time as me June because i had a set back , who is being processed in Mississauga and should have gone to the London office has already got their Corp and has landed .

I haven't had a request for any more documents, but we did file on August 25th and have yet to receive SA. We got a letter saying our application was received August 25th and if any thing changes (address, email etc) to contact CIC. Still waiting too, so don't worry-if you were going to get denied they would have already informed you.. Just have to play the waiting game.

I agree Taffy. I applied at the end of June, received SA and my application was sent to London. I'm now seeing applications for people who applied 2 months after I applied and their application was kept in Canada and they've already gone into Process. I have no red flags on my application and it's really straightforward. Tired of this waiting game.

No rhyme or reason for it. It wasn't like they keep the applications of people who was in Canada and applying outland, They are all over the map with it. Some say we don't get AOR from London , but my SA officer said i would and if i didn't receive anything in 3 months to send an inquiry. My MP is going to send an inquiry because my husbands medical expires the end of Dec and if we need to get one he will be here on vacation in Dec.

what time frame did they give you to send the forms . Every time i submitted new forms i didn't hear back ,till the end of that time frame was given.Count back to the date you received the email and go from there.

Do you mean if we have a good job and house, we will have more chance to get the visa if we apply it after SA?
Are you sure? What I remember is you have to make CIC believe you will be back to your country. This is difficult.

Once you have the SA and have started the PR process, you have to return to your home country when you receive the PPR. By making the PR application you've acknowledged that your long-term intention is to immigrate to Canada. If you can demonstrate that you have the financial means and flexibility to leave Canada to complete the PR outland, you have a reasonable chance of getting the TRV.

I think a good job and a house, perhaps with some travel history, would be sufficient to satisfy them. In our case, we had no current job, but we had the house, the travel history and proof of financial resources.

The CIC's mandate with respect to Family Class applications states that the goal is to reunite families as quickly as possible. The long processing times from some countries is unintentional. I'd like to think that our VOs acknowledge this and that most of them "have a heart" when it comes to the goal of reuniting families.

Hey Everyone,

Someone did some 'sorting' on the spreadsheet that made it all wonky. I reverted it back. Can you please double check if everything is accurate!

Thanks!
