HELP!!!
i sent my application form on Aug.22 ( checked on canada post) and cic updated on their website that they have opened the files they received until aug.28 on oct.08 but no update yet. i called them like 3 times they have sent an email to Mississauga but no update yet :-[, does anyone have same situation? or wht do i do?

They didn't tell you anything when you called? I called and they told me my application had been received. It at least made me feel better. If you can't get through try calling early in the morning. They open at 8AM eastern time. You always get through super fast at that time.

When i call they said they have sent an email to Mississauga and i need to wait for 3mths

Now that I have SA, I'm going to try to apply for visitor visa for my wife.... even though I didn't purchase land in Philippines yet and can't demonstrate a job there for my wife. I'll try and explain that obviously she will return after visa is up or if PR is approved first as we wouldn't want to ruin the application we filed under family sponsorship. I'll also explain I have been in business for many years dealing with the government and wouldn't want to cause that relationship I have with the Government and future issues. I also can show I have the finances to cover any and all expenses necessary. I guess I'll see if that is enough for them...
Do I have to book plane tickets for the wife to and return from Canada before application is sent in??

Don't book tickets until you have visa. All you need is an itinerary which you can create on expedia, save and print.

Today for the first time i was able to log on to CIC website using my Unique Identification Number and see status update. I guess that a gud news. The bad news is it only that they received my file on Oct 6, 2014 (The day i send my updated forms). That mean all my file timelines starts from Oct 6, and not from the day i first applied

Hello all,

Im sure this has been answered before but I cant find it. Would anyone be able to let me know the phone number for calling to check your application status from outside Canada? I have not heard anything at all yet.

Also does anyone know why so many people on our August spreadsheet have not heard anything yet when on the September spreadsheet almost everyone seems to be getting SA ahead of us? Is it just a disorganised system?

Hey guys i wanted to make sure of something here, when i re-submitted an updated form IMM 1344 I wrote a note with it stating my file number, my name and date of birth, but unfortunately I forgot to attach the email letter from CIC of the request, will they be able to find my file and consider the updated forms with my original application?

I used this mailing address as stated in my email from CIC, is this the right one? Has anyone used this mailing address to submit requested forms?

I managed to get through to talk to someone on +1 613 9444000 and discovered we got SA nearly a month ago but did not receive an email and due to technical problems on the online application checking software were not able to see our status there either.

Hope this helps anyone else who is wondering about theirs.

I know, we are now on 84th day and didnt even recieved a notice . We send the updated form on Sept 26th . When my husband spoke with the officer in the immigration he said the process can take from 5 weeks - 3 months , 1st stage .. But wait is really hard especially when you are far away from loved one ..

Wow that is fast. Their normal processing times average 11 months for 80%! Hopefully everyone else has similar luck.

What kind of questions have you been asking them...timing?
