August 2014 Citizenship Applications

Getting a bit uneasy now,
To date I have not received as much as an AOR, so I at least know my application has been received , this is very sloppy service. and to think there are at least 10 other people from august still waiting is so wrong.

Guys,

I just got off the phone with a CIC agent who wanted to give me general information, stating that they are only opening applications received on or before august 12th, and that if my application was sent after this date she cannot give me a status update.

I insisted (politely of course ) that its only fair that she should be able to check and see if my application was received or perhaps its lost and I need to re-apply. she held out and kept saying "Mam I cannot give you info on an application mailed after Aug 12" , Of course, this made no sense to me as other agents were at least able to check.

So I told her that I have my Receipt number and want to know if they got the payment.

She took it and came back and said, " I can confirm that we received payment on XX day, and I can see your file is in process as we started collecting data yesterday, and sent you an acknowledgement letter which you should be receiving in about 10 days" it was like pulling a tooth ! SMH so much for not sending acknowledgements for anything before August 12th.

But atleast the hard work was worth it ;D

To everyone still waiting, Best wishes and positive energy to you. you too will be hearing something soon, this process really does require a lot of patience.

I understand your feelings but take it easy...officially they are winding up August 12th applications as of yesterday. So still there is room to find some comfort. Returns are already home, so keep checking...by Sat/Sun you will see something positive, I believe.

I am not sure what the local office is for Brampton cases and don't know how long for the next steps. It is a family application (for 3 including me).

Just felt like sharing this with you all and any insights on anticipated timelines and next steps is appreciated.

Judging from your time line, if all goes well the next step should be the test Invitation,
Though you may have to wait some time for this.

I yave been following this thread for a while. My boyfriend applied for citizenship in August. The application was received on Aug 23d and no news yet. No ecas, no email...nada. only proof is that s.o signed the mail in August.
We hope to hear sth soon....patience is the key.
But yes it s a bit frustrating to hear that cic doesn't
I guess since they didn't send the application back it fine.

Well, I understand your frustration but by official version of "we are processing..." you are still one week away from the current cut off; so still there is room to find some relief. It is not a return for sure. So keep checking...by next week you will see some good news, I believe.

Hi...will do...tonight.
okay my bf called this morning CIC and they don't have them in the system. I told jim to call back and verify his address. Unfortunately it was the same guy and he said they only have his name and birth date. I asked him to check his address cause he has a new one..and it would have given it away. However they don t have his address? Is this true?

I thought they keep your information. They had mine from my first work permit...any advise.
is the cic agent right or just fooling him?
Please advise.

Nothing yet my friend. I called them many times and always the same response. They did not open my files from August yet.
My fear is that my application was refused and returned back, then lost in the mail. I was told that from one of the agents who told me that could be a very possible thing.

How can I make a case specific query ?

Not what we like to hear ..Most agents are just reading from script, they don't have any clues many times. So don't completely rely on it...
Anyway, just raise a case specific inquiry. See link below. Please include any information you can provide them help tracing it, like client ID, courier/CP tracking information and fee payment Receipt No. etc. etc.
Wait for CIC reply before taking any further steps. Just asking.. did you put full address like Case Processing Centre - Sydney-Grant Adults? As CPC Sydney is the central processing office having many departments, (If not put Grant Adults or by error) it may be sitting at some other desks.

Case specific enquiries form (available only if you submitted an application to an in-Canada office or online). If you sent your application outside of Canada please use the International case specific inquiry form for the mission where you applied.
