My application showing in process. I am 60 years old, and why they sending me the book? I hope I don't need to take the test If somebody knows the procedures for seniors please share. Thanks!

It's an automatic message the case management system generates whenever some data input triggers it. In fact, CIC doesn't mail anything until a little later. In your case, you will probably not get the book, but if you do, just read it out of curiosity.

Finally ecas updated. Application received on August 25 and started processing on October 29.

No AOR received by email. Just the ecas update.

Lol, I think at this point I'm convinced that those from the first two weeks of August are still on the old system before they allowed CIC agents to process files fully - i.e. the ruling that went into effect on August 1.

OR

We all got lost in some black hole.

If you notice the above list, very few from first half of August are left w/o any update of their application. Sad but true, your second option seems more reasonable now.
