:::sigh::: now some of the US applicants going thru Ottawa from October are getting their PPR.

Certainly happy for them but at the same time it's like WTF CIC.. there are some August peeps who are still waiting for any news and when I inquire it's the whole "15 month.." response. Just irritating that there seems to be no rhyme or reason to their format and impossible to get a true status update. Last time they responded they said my app was in queue to be reviewed. Well, since they already asked me to provide proof of income and pay stubs hasn't it already been reviewed by someone to have those documents requested? Why does it take so long from when I sent the required documents, which they received in early March, to continue to process my application?

Just venting frustration here. I'm about at the point I'm gonna quit my job here in St Petersburg and just move up to Halifax so I can be with my husband. If we have to live off one income for awhile so be it, just so long as I'm with him. Tired of the long distance relationship and frustrated with this system. I know Canada is cool on same-sex couples, but sometimes I wonder if we somehow wound up with someone who personally doesn't care for that situation and has the option to shuffle us to the back of the line. Who knows.. Again sorry for this rant, just needed to vent. We make a joke sometimes that if we didn't have bad luck we would have no luck at all. lol
Quick question, how long did CIC give you to supply additional info?
From what I understand, when anything requested a " bring forward date" is attached to application that coincides with date allowed to send in requests.
Application will be revisited, so if they give you 60 days to send in.App will be revisited after the 60 days.

It says basically if the info isn't received in 60 days of the date on the letter then it could result in refusal of my application. The date on the letter was Feb 28th.

Thanks for that info on the "bring forward" portion as I wasn't aware of that. Just figured since CIC had what they requested they would proceed. Maybe the PPR's are handled differently as i have read that folks sent those in and the next week or two CoPR was issued. (shrug)

Brightside is I can relax until next week.. lol 8)

Did you have a scanned copy of you passport included in the application? I read cases here where people just receive COPR in the mail without any PPR. Did your ecas get updated at all?

Yeah I sent a copy with the application. I read that as well with some folks just getting the CoPR but then others having to send another copy of their passport, I guess in case there were any changes. Probably depends on who you have processing the application.

I do rush home every day to check the mail like the kid in "A Christmas Story" waiting for his decoder ring. lol :D

My COPR has arrived today if someone could do the honours with the spreadsheet (issued April 17th). :D An amazing feeling, one of the best days of my life.

I've said this already in the London Office thread but thank you to everyone who has helped and given their support along the way. I would never have got to this point without the help of the people on this forum.

Just to clarify, your application will be revisited on or before the 60 days.
The 60 days is the limit CIC can take for revisiting app.
I never worded first response very well.

All thanks goes to Almighty God, my wife landed today in Calgary. Thanks everyone.

Here is my story

10/07/2013 : Application sent first time
31/07/2013 : Application Returned due to missing signature
1/08/2013 : Application sent second time
24/08/2013 : AOR from Mississauga
30/08/2013 : SA from Mississauga, file transfer to Tel Aviv Office
10/09/2013 : File was received in Tel Aviv
21/09/2013 : ECAS changed to medicals received
8/10/2013 : AOR from Visa Office
5/12/2013 : ECAS changed to start processing
9/12/2013 : We received an e-mail to submit more documents1
13/3/2014 : After sending so many e-mails and get frustrated with the wait, we decided to apply for TRV, my wife went to the visa office to submit the TRV application, but the visa office said your immigration visa is ready!
17/3/2014 : Decision made
19/3/2014 : Visa received
25/3/2014 : LANDED

My advice, be patient, use to the time to build a solid relationship, give a lot of your time to your spouse and take care of each others. Finally, Communicate with the Visa office as much as you can, don't just WAIT!

Good luck to everyone.

Today is the 60th day so we will see what happens. Just trying to stay optimistic. After thinking about the wording on the letter, I would think the CIC will revisit the app after the 60 days since it's the timeframe given. But who knows if they are backed up.. (shrug) nothing to do but wait and see. ::)

:( I'm feeling pretty discouraged today, maybe it's the dreary weather....but I have this bad feeling that my request for additional information / intent to provide stability will get me denied. What on earth made the officer think my military husband and I would go on welfare is beyond me. How many people decide over our applications?? If the officer is having a bad day or in a bad mood will that be my reason for denial?? I know border guards can say no without real reason - are our applications and really our entire future in one persons hands and based solely on their impression of us?

I have read the operational manual for visa officers about how to process immigration applications and how to make decision or judgements on certain aspects. (not all, but some). i.e. that's the rules they need to follow. If they reject your case, they need to make reference from those ruses as the reason(s) of rejection. They can't just say you're denied because I dislike you.

I need to find that manual somewhere. I read it a couple weeks ago online.
