Really happy to hear that, however what is puzzling me is that according to the processing charts it should take about 14 months. How is it that they got their visas after 6-7 months?

i think it is the maximum period within which one's application is to be processed, meaning that it can be shortened, i would stick to my stand that it is really a case to case basis. As matter of fact i have learned from esr that her cousin's application only took four months.That was only last year. Indeed i am not discounting the possibility that it might happen again since there was a precedent.

hi joshrara. It is a case to case basis. Sometimes it depends on the medical expiration, urgency... I read one was granted visa because he booked already his flight. In artes case his PPR was sept. 2. The visa was issued with a proviso that he is to leave the Philippines before Nov. 9 as his medical will expire on November 15.

Hello! I think, cic has yet to update their processing times site and i think it's due to be updated within this month if they are doing it on a quarterly basis. That is why I check the site every now and then to see if it has already been updated. It still says there strike action although the strike is over. Let's just hope for a faster processing time for all visa offices!

But I would also like to agree with what ellaine said avissa, it's more of a case-to-case basis and sometimes one just gets too lucky to have his/her application processed faster.

Yeah I just read about the strikes being over. I really hope that everyone on this thread gets their visas much MUCH sooner. What annoies me is that I went through the same process last yeah for Germany ( because my husband has a European citizenship as well) and the whole process took only20 days

Hello my wife (the sponsor) sent in our application on 8/22/2013 and now she received a letter requesting her rental agreement and most recent payment receipt. Is this common? Should we be concerned? Seems like they want proof that she is currently living there.

at this stage they usually ask for documentation related to sponsor and its good that they just for it rather than sending back. So tell your sponsor to send the documents asap

Also I never included my rental agreement or pay stubs with my docs. Just the letter from employer.

I am a Canadian and will be sponsoring my husband in Accra after our marriage in January. We were wondering if it will be okay to apply straight away after getting married or does that look bad in CIC's eyes? Is there any tips or suggestions anyone can offer us? Thanks so much. We have been seeing many of you getting approved so quickly so we are praying for the same

How long did u date prior to marriage? And how much proof of your pre-marriage dating do you have? Me and my wife dated for almost 2 years prior to our marriage, then applied straight away. I d assume the more history you have, the better.

So long as you can comply with all the necessary requirements and relevant documents and you can prove your relationship, I believe you can submit outright. CIC's function is ministerial in nature, the fact that you have all the needed requirements and proofs,then it is incumbent upon them to accommodate your application.Best wishes on your upcoming wedding and on your application.
