I don't know maybe you could ask someone on a thread from NDVO who have already finished the process. Mine is in Vienna and Vienna and other European based VOs don't ask for the passport in advance.As far as I know, NDVO is the only VO that does this. Yea my ethnicity is, but I am tied to Ankara because of my citizenship,but yes I ve to wait as everyone else as far as submittal of passport goes.Avissa said:

Abe1004, NDVO generally ask for the passport at the very beginning of the process. Guess every consulate has their own way of working
Good question, even I am not sure what will happen if someone wants to travel and his/her passport is with the consulate :

I got news today that a person whose process was received on August 9th in Sao Paulo VO got a passport request today.
This went over the published limit on the website, please verify your ECAS status online and your junk folders on your email (if you provided one). my husband received a letter that he is eligible to sponsor august 28
Medical is also received, and when checking it online decision is made
In their letter my husband was informed that my papers was send in manila canadian embassy.
