As an August applicant, if we didn't receive RCMP request that means ours Background check or Criminal check is complete?

Hi Friends,

I just wanted to get your suggestion on upfront medicals. Has anybody did upfront medicals? I recently came to know that pregnant women can't get the X-Ray done and have to wait until the delivery which means PR application is on hold till then. As we are planning for a baby, I am thinking to go for upfront medicals. Any suggestions?

I forgot to put my email on my application. I did receive the Acknowledgement letter. Will this matter?

Also, is the process faster if you are an applicant inside Canada?

I guess they they will send the AOR to the Mailing Address on which you have provided on the Application

No, it just means that your name is not matching any of the ones RCMP is tracking for non admissibility to Canada (or something similar). CIC is still continuing your Background and Criminal check in the background.

I don't see how anyone not privy to CIC's internal practices can answer this. Some August applicants have already received an RCMP request. You would think because they process applications in roughly the order they were received, that they have made a decision about whether to send an RCMP request to each August applicant, but as noted earlier this is only one part of the criminal/background check.

Hello members,

I really need your help. We sent out our application in August 2013 like most of you but have not received the AOR or any other communication from CIC. We are beginning to panic now since our current work permit is valid only till October 2014 (don't think we can extend it any more since we have used up all the extensions).

Do you think we have not received the AOR since ours is a second time application and we already have the UCI? Our first application was returned (2012) since we had not submitted the IELTS score.

I checked online using the UCI and the status says "application received on August 21, 2013" and our credit card has already been charged the visa fee.

What can we do from our end? Can we contact the visa office? How?

Also, can someone post the link for the trackit page? I would like to add our information as well...

If your application is showing as "Application Received" then an AOR has been issued. If you don't have the AOR then it has been lost somewhere, possibly in your junk mail folder. I would contact CIC about getting another one.
