Guys what's with this visa officers going on strike. How is that going to effect us? Is this gonna cause any delays!!

I was just thinking the same thing. I am on implied status right now since my study permit renewal is still in process since April. I wonder how long that will be delayed now.

I sent two police clearance certificates (one from my home country and one from Canada) along with the CEC application. I see here people talking about FBI report/certificate. Does everyone who apply under CEC need to get one from FBI?

Hello, to answer your question : FBI certificate is required only if you lived in the USA for more then 6 month.

Hello,

All my formalities (AOR, RPRF, biodata, PPR) have been completed. My passport reached CIC on 4th June. I ordered my GCMS notes a month back. I received it today. Under the Application Assignment section, the due date mentioned is 30th June 2013. What does this date imply?

I think your application will be opened on or before 30th June. This may not be correct in case of VISA stamping though!

Change the date... It shows up 'App. Filed.......: 27-08-2013' in your profile.

If you have given your email address, they send it through email.

so before the original VO did your recommending to RC 6262, your eligibility was under review as per original VO?. I have applied through a immigration consultant. So what he checked in your eligibility.

That guy basically checked all my degrees and education credientials pertaintaing to NOC and also how fast did i conveyed about my martial status. he also checked my Temporary status that through out my tenture here in canada i had maintained my Temporary resident status in some capacity weather it was student / visitor or worker. Then he checked the basis on which i had receieved my original PGWP.
Finally at the end he had mentioned that there are no gorunds of refusal based on eligibility.

As expected, received the below email from CIC today. Now it is almost certain that it will be rejected. Any suggestions/ways to prevent this?

This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada. Please note that your file is in process and will continue to be processed at the Case Processing Pilot-Ottawa (“CPP-O”) office. I am writing you this letter to express my serious concern(s) regarding your application.

You have been working and residing in Montreal, Quebec since your arrival in Canada in May 2010. As per R87.1(1), the Canadian experience class is prescribed as a class of persons who may become permanent residents on the basis of their ability to become economically established in Canada, their experience in Canada, and their intention to reside in a province other than the Province of Quebec. You demonstrate strong ties to the Province of Quebec given your employment history. For this reason, I am not satisfied you intend to reside outside the Province of Quebec. Therefore, I am not satisfied your meet the requirements of the program.

Therefore I am asking you to submit any additional information and/or documentation that would allay my concern(s). You have 60 days from the date of this letter to submit the additional information and/ or documentation to the above address.

Please ensure that you quote the file number indicated at the top of this letter on any information you submit. If you choose not to respond with additional information and/or documentation, or if your submission does not allay these concern(s), your application may be refused.

We look forward to receiving the additional information and/or documentation within 60 days.

Yours truly,

Today I finally after a long wait received my Medical Request :)

Check with your company if a transfer is possible to any other province. If you can get a letter from your company, it may satisfy the VO. If you have any relatives outside of Quebec, then mention about the same as well. Provide whatever information possible regardless of how small it is. Hope things will pan out well for you. Best of luck.

Also mention if you have options for changing job and working in other location, It would be best and convincing if you can get an offer letter from outside employer.
