Congratulations to everyone who has gotten news recently and PPR!!

I'm super excited because my husband is landing in 8 days!!!!!!!!!!! Finally!!!!!!!! After getting PPR on November 26th and getting the visa on December 4th he's finally going to land! I can't wait!!!! These last 2 weeks have really been dragging!

But I can't even land until early April so I'm still just sitting here lol

My only choice is to make an appointment to land locally which I've heard takes forever, but no one can drive us to the border and wifey doesn't have a paid vacation to fly back home with me until late april so no matter what we have to wait until then.

whaaaaaaaaaaaaat...so they actually state how soon you can land? I thought it was ASAP plus a deadline. April is just around the corner. If you don't have anything packed, it'll give you some time to do so.

I have been a long time lurker but not active. But I thought I'd share my big news today!

After a couple weeks of checking the mail everyday, I didn't check today but my father in law told me I had a big envelope waiting for me.

I received my Confirmation of Permanent Residence papers.

I have been "visiting" Canada since last July. My family lives close to Buffalo and we live near Toronto so we've been back to visit my parents in the US more frequently than the 6 month limit. I've been back and forth about 10 times since we applied and haven't had any problems crossing the border. We were planning a trip to the US for Easter weekend (March 29) but now are thinking of making a quick trip across the border and back so I can get started with everything.

Now trying to figure out the next step with getting a PR card, OHIP, SIN #, driving license, bank account and credit card so I can get settled.

A question for those who've already landed- do you have to bring all of your stuff the first time you cross? I have a bunch of boxes and furniture stored at my parent's place and no place to put it until we get our own place this fall. I don't want to have to rent a truck, a storage unit and then move it all again.

I honestly feel like I've cheated everyone in July and August who is still waiting, it's so unfair to all of you. =( Of course I'm happy as can be, but I can't help but feel bad at the same time.

No no, I can land anytime I want as long as it's before the date on the COPR. But because of my situation, I can't land until April. We weren't expecting to get this so soon so we aren't quite ready yet.

I wish I could spend this time packing, but I'm in Canada and my stuff is in Pittsburgh haha We've decided to give them a call and see how soon we can get a landing appointment at the VO here in Vancouver since we won't be ready until later anyway. We'll see what they say on Monday when one of us calls.

Hello, I'm an Augusty too, but finally joined here!

Have just gotten a message from CIC saying that I have to send them the photo page of your passport and of any pages indicating a validity extension or change to your personal information.

My friend who has already gotten PR sent the copy of whole pages of her passport when she got this email, but do I need to send all the pages or just the photo page? I don't get the "any pages indicating a validity extension or change to your personal information" part.

If no pages indicate an extension or change to your personal information, then just the photo page. Some countries do (or used to) extend the validity of passports, or put name changes in the passports, or add the names of children when they are born. If none of that applies to you, just send the first pages, and maybe make a note in the email that there are no pages indicating a validity extension or change to your personal information.

Did you use a lawyer or did you submit your own application?

i have heard instances for NDVO that for some cases they hold the pp for almost 4 months... So i would not be very optimistic as far as NDVO is concerned...it would take its normal course but yeah don't worry you would be fine...btw is ur case straightforward ?? any travel history ??
