does anyone know what the next stage usually is after sponsorship approval?
does the VO contact you visa email or should we just keep checking our cic status?

Next stage is wait.....then wait some more. I've looked at some VO specific spreadsheets of some waiting months before anything. I think this is the best place to help with whats happening with others, and in some cases, add to excessive worry.

Cheers, best of luck to you

Got sponsorship approval this morning. PDF doc says the application has been forwarded to Manila. Typically, how long before e-cas updates?

Thanks

YAY!

Yayy congrats! And from what I've heard it takes forever to update, but its totally up to the VO who's dealing with it, sometimes it doesn't even get updated until the second stage.

OK...thanks!

appreciate the congrats!

The e-cas login is now at the "check box" stage discussed a couple pages back....

Cheers

Hi can someone add me to the spreadsheet please? I'm Canadian and applying PR for my Mexican husband ;)

visa office: mexico city
Aug 17th, 2012: Medical done
Aug 24th, 2012: sent out PR application with canada post express
Aug 27th, 2012: application received by CIC

I'm trying to finish reading all the posts on this thread right now haha, does the CIC email you every time something is updated? Or do they only email you for the AOR and then you will have to check for any other updates?

Thanks!!!!

Congrats to all! Hopefully they keep up the pace!

Same here. Have you tried using Application # and the applicant's info? For us, we can see Application Received and Medicals Received that way.

Welcome!

Sometimes (but not always) you will get an email from your VO with an AOR (Acknowledgement of Receipt)
Usually you will get EITHER an email OR a letter with Stage 1 Sponsorship Approval and stating your file has been transferred to your home country's visa office.
Other than that, don't expect ANY correspondance from CIC unless there is a problem (need more documents, something expired and needs to be re-done, etc). You will have to check e-cas for updates and, even then, the website is not always very up to date. You may try sending them CSEs (Case Specific Enquiries) through their website or emailing them if you have an immediate concern - but many offices will not bother to respond unless your application is way outside their processing times OR if your situation is EXTREMELY important to your file (sometimes, not even then).
In short, after stage 1, you do a lot of waiting and have VERY little info from your VO. Hopefully your VO is helpful :)

Not everyone gets an AOR, but if you do, it will either be by email or a letter, as for sponsorship approval, they will inform you but it also will be by email or a letter. There's no saying which you will get, if you provided an email address on the sponsors portion of the application then chances are it will be by email, but some people are not so lucky and end up waiting the extra few weeks for it to come by mail.

I think checking the ecas online thing is more useful during the second stage when CIC doesn't send you a notification for every step, but from what I've heard it's very hit and miss and isn't reliable at all.

I know, I keep letting that thought get into my head, but then I have to remind myself that we still have another 20 some days to catch up so maybe we're right behind!

Canada Post lost track of my app package so I'm actually not sure if it was received on the 10th like it was suppose to be or if it got there on the 13th when they found it. So I may very well be right there in the exact pile as you guys haha

I'm sure we'll all hear something soon =)

Strange....That works (with the 'F', haha) but only shows "application received".....mind you, we only got sponsorship approval this morning, and my wife has since gone to bed. I'm sure she'll be excited to see her name and mailing address on CIC website!

That also proves it's been opened far enough to get her details, so that works for me for now...haha.

Cheers.....thanks for the suggestion
