It looks like one person from the July spreadsheet has been approved for sponsorship! And 4 people have AOR now as well, that is pretty good news I think =)

It seems like they pick what applications to work on randomly, all of the people with AOR sent their apps around the same time but not from the beginning of the month, its more mid-month, more specifically the 17th and 18th. Odd, but I wouldn't be surprised if they just choose randomly which app to start on next.

Perhaps some of us in August will get the same good luck as those ppl already with sponsor approval from July.

I didn't know an open work permit application could be sent with the Sponsorship/PR paperwork.

It's only applicable for inland applicants meaning you sent your papers to vegriville not in mississauga

I thought it was only possible when doing an application Inland? If I'm wrong, that's a very good strategy!

When was your application sent? August 19th
When the CIC received your application? August 21st
Which VO are you going through? Warsaw

Sadly I just realized, we used the old forms for IMM0008 and IMM1344. What's the best course of action? Does anybody know if there's a grace period?

Called CIC this morning and the agent said she doesn't have an answer to that question and it's something that will be looked into by the case-processing centre itself.
But that could mean a delay of several months!

Hopefully when your application package gets opened in Mississauga, you'll get someone who will give a bit of a grace period for the forms.... if not, they'll send the application back to you, but a lot of the time it is sent with a letter saying to send it back by *this* date and it's gets sent to a specific agent rather than just back into the regular pile.... so IF it does come to having your package returned to you, hopefully it will, in the end, only delay your results by a week or 2... Have the new updated forms ready, so as soon as it comes back to you, u can send them immediately!

I sincerely hope that you get a VO who will give you a grace period, like Tink says. Have your forms ready, and let's hope for the best!

I spoke to 3 different agents that said it should be fine, but one said, as is anything with CIC, they can't predict anything. Though it's highly probable the February 2012 forms will be accepted, they can't guarantee it. EEK!

Given they had a grace period of 2 months from the July 2011 - February 2012 change over, I hope they are lenient.

Sigh. Which old forms did you use? IMM0008 and IMM1344?
Hoping for the best here. Might call again tomorrow just to see what they think about sending the updated forms right away.

Yup, those two. I had the Feb 2012 versions.

I've heard that it doesn't do much good to send in the updated forms if they don't even have you in the system yet because they will have a hard time combining the two...
