Sorry to hear that, bdh. Did they give your husband any information on how long their "investigation" will take?
@ waikiki

Thank you, no they didn't mention anything to him, they just said that they would further their investigation, because we had everything (too perfect ) all answers were answered by my husband without any hesitations. Also from what my husband mentioned too was that the interviewing officer, was very rude, would not let him finish his sentences and also made no eye contact. She also hadn't opened our package prior to the interview, She opened once in the office together. He also gave her more pictures from my last trip to Turkey, and she said if I want to see them or anything else I will ask. Also when glancing briefly at them she only took a couple and threw down the others beside her like they were trash  The strange thing is when they called him for the interview they asked him to bring a paper from the government, with family names on them which also included mine, along with more supporting evidence. She refused to accept it. He was treated very poorly there and I don't know what we can do about that. If having attitude or any other type of unacceptable behavior is not tolerated by us, then why should they have the right to be that way?

I am not too sure if anyone would know what steps we would have to take, once the final decision is made. If it is refused of course, we will fight until the end for our marriage. Do you know where I could find the actual human rights code for discrimination/Immigration misconduct for both Canada and European ( including Turkey as they are an Euroasian Country ) human rights law? Any advise would help and be so much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I got a call from Vegreville today about our visitor extension - We hadn't paid enough (the kids each have to have a separate payment), so we paid what we owe and are faxing the receipt to the immigration officer, and from what she said, it sounds like it will be approved.

The interesting thing is our application was received the 2nd week of December and the site says they're working on applications received Nov 4th.

Hoping to get a 1 year VR so we can get health care!
Do you know if buffalo is working already on applications received in August? Our file was transferred on Nov.01/2011.
Also my husband is on F1. Do you think it will take longer than others or if they will interview him?

@ Bold9900

Thank you for your reply, I realize that they need to validate things but what is considered a "perfect package" ? I mean they want as much proof and info and require such things to ensure it is a genuine marriage. We are staying positive and thanks for you confidence. We were wondering if you know of these types of situations to be true in any case after interviews? It just seems so unrealistic to us and actually quite disturbing to hear an interview officer say those words " too perfect " and also acting so unprofessionally. Do you think this is just an act or could someone really be this immature and unprofessional?

We are slightly confused in our matter and hope to receive some positive light on our situation and our future. Thanks again, and any help or comfort that it can bring us in this matter is so greatly appreciated.

@ bdh

You know what, as long as you know in your heart that your marriage is genuine, let them do what they want to, because in the end, they have no grounds to deny your hubby a visa, so I say cheer up, put back on that smile!

Think Positive! ;)

*hugs*

Awe..thank you, that cheered us up. Yes we have a genuine marriage and actually we were just discussing that ( let them do what they want ). :) We said the same thing, to remain positive and keep smiling because you are right they have to issue a visa to him. We did everything right and it just pisses us off that they can act like that and to treat him as a second class citizen. Thank you for your encouraging and kind words.

Hugs coming right back at ya..hehe ;)

To everyone this year who has been accepted.

I want to say a big Congratualations :-*

It is brilliant to have people who are going through the same anxiety and excitement and know that so many other people are trying to get to Canada too.

Good Luck to the rest of us!!

I was wondering. The VO officer, was she Canadian or Turkish? How about in other offices? Are they all Canadians or not?

Hi, The V.O. officer was Turkish. At the front desk and as far as my husband could tell they were all Turkish. He is not sure of anyone in the office, that may have been Canadian. He does know that some are but didn't see any when he arrived there this morning. As far as other Embassies in Turkey he is not sure if they are Turkish or Canadian. As far as Immigration applications, they are all dealt with through Ankara. They do have other Embassies throughout but that is where he had to travel to for his interview.

OMG!! After all of that, my husband finally got his PPR!! The Embassy just called and asked him to send it as quickly as he can. Mind you, I am not complaining in the least because my HUSBAND IS FINALLY COMING HOME!!! :p But the ironic thing is he was just there for his interview yesterday and could have given it to them then. lol. My husband will be landing on the 28th, 9 days to go!!! I am the happiest woman right now ;D

Essex could you please update the spread sheet for us when you can that would be great!!!!
