Just to share with you my case. I came in spt 17 to sponsor my husband and my son. My son is only 17 months now and you can not imagine how difficult for a mother to stay away from her son. I filed sponsorship on sept 28 and waiting. Dont know how long it will take.My visa office is singapore which takes 22 months processing.
We are helplss. Nothing to do just have patience and faith in god.

Your medical is sent to a central processing where the DMP's submit them after you take the medical. When your app reached the VO then they request your medical from there. Hence, Medical Received

In the PR stage the VO is updating ecas.
thanks magpie.

Singapore VO has a waiting time of 22 months? How come other Vo offices in asia have a relatively short waiting time?

I agree that never involved MP just yet specially when the applicant is not even done on the first stage approval. they can't do anything about it they just going to pass the message that came from cic. and its just the same thing that you already heard. nobody can speed-up the process..on the second stage involving MP and checking on your application if it is still on the standard processing time it would just add up more on the processing time..this is actually true coz they even saying this stuff on their website. were just adding more pressure on them that makes them irritated. Everybody is waiting, even those applicants who got their visa already they felt the same thing even hopeless sometimes. but the faith and the patience they have makes them to overcome everything. before i got my visa, when we were just started the application . we did have MP just waiting for our go signal, and they even ask us if we want them to follow-up regarding our app..but we chose not to involved them, unless we don't hear anything from immigration till 6 mos. because I was affraid that they will slow down our processing time. It works, the actual processing time for my country is 10-12 mos, but with God's mercy i got it not even 5 months of patiently waiting.

I'm sorry guys, I am just going to be fair here. One cannot blame Mr. Kenney for the backlog going on right now. He is trying his best to decrease the backlog by introducing new reforms. Take for instance the parent/grandparent petition process which has been immediately stopped. To compensate for that (which by the way, is just being stopped for 2 years at the moment) they are introducing the super visa. I will not explain that in detail since I am assuming everyone knows already how that works.

When it comes to spousal visas, we are still far luckier than most countries when it comes to processing times. My cousin, who is married to a US PR Card holder, had to wait for 5 years before she got her visa because that is the time frame for spouses of permanent residents whereas spouses of US citizens have to wait anywhere between 10-12 months. We should be happy the Canadian government doesn't discriminate that way, PR's and Citizens are equal, when it comes to sponsoring their spouses.

Yes, he is focusing on bringing more skilled workers into his country, and why shouldn't he? Every politician wants the best for their country, and believe me, Canada survived the recession years ago due to the fact that we had a strong hold on skilled workers coming in the country. I am a skilled worker myself who came here less than two years ago.

The government provides numerous programs to integrate landed immigrants, including our spouses, into the Canadian society by spending billions of dollars on free programs such as ESL, LINC, etc.

Yes, there are struggles for everyone, but like I said earlier, Immigration processes, anywhere, are always tough and a working progress kind of situation.

Some of you have been saying that Kenney should experience separation from his wife and kids to know how we feel, for me that is utter childish. It is not his fault that he and his family are first generation Canadians born in this land.

This message is not meant to demean or insult anyone, I am just giving you guys a look at what we are missing out, due to our own individual cases.

I truly wish that days would go by fast, until we all are united with our spouses/families. It will happen, believe me, til then, continue to live your life and cherish this distance because we will all come out stronger from this experience. It is when you are fighting distance when love grows stronger, with the beauty of all emotions going by, happiness, sadness, perseverance, hope, patience and faith.

I wish you ALL the best.

I agree but people wanna blame someone so even if Liberals were in power they will still be blaming whoever... the gvt has more on their plate other than immigration ie a stable economy to ensure we dont end up like europe and their debt crisis so i applaud the gvt for keeping us from going through a double dip recession

The call center agent said they started processing sponsorship on Nov 3rd, but we've received nothing from them by mail or email, and I can't log into ecas using the payment receipt number or my client ID (from my VR, which is what the call center agent used to look up our application).

OMG GOD Awesome News and confused!!!! Please share your experience...

I posted before that my husband called CIC call centre from abroad and we were told to wait until the end of the month for a letter in our mail box. My husband is in Brazil (he born there), so I called my best friend in Canada to check out my mail box and look for any letter and we got it there.

We were approved in Novemeber 2 (essex please add this to the list) but we got a two pages letter, talking about the right of permanent residence fee and the undertaking application reminder... Is this normal? I'm sorry to ask this I'm just so excited and a little bit confused.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!! YAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations, sounds like the normal letter, telling you that sponsor is approved, then they have a few paragraphs of various information.

congrats,
I received a 2-page letter as well, seems to be normal. You already have your UCI, it´s on the upper right, under your address.
