Hello Folks.

I have just found this forum and I'm so glad there are people I can talk to about things.

We are currently applying for a common-law permenant visa. My partner is Canadian but living in Scotland with me. We have had the sponsorship application go through successfully and are just waiting on the Permenent Residence Applicaiton status to be completed.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me when the timeline starts from? This is what it says, which is why I am confused:

Sponsorship
We received your application to sponsor ............. on August 17, 2011.

We started processing your application on October 27, 2011.

We sent you a letter on October 27, 2011 about the decision on your application.

THEN

Permanent Residence
We received .......... application for permanent residence on August 17, 2011.

Medical results have been received.

Does anyone know if this means they start processing the Permenent Residence part from August 17th? Or from October 27th?

Just so we can kind of work out when we are looking at moving!

Thanks to everyone for their help.
hi trickeydicky16

process for the permanent resident start from the day when your application received by Visa office (in Scotland) . so you can consider that from 27 Oct.

Hello, I am new to this forum. I find it to be a good resource to al the questions I now have regarding our case.

We are an August Family Class applicant through Paris. Last week we received the letter informing us that they started reviewing our case on the embassy; however, today the e-cas status switched to "decision made". I am very nervous as there seems to be no mean of finding out in which direction this decision goes. It is spooky to see the timeline, so close to the reception of the package. I wonder whether this was a legitimate case for them, or for some reason I was rejected! I am unable to find any reason our case would be so abruptly. Hence I am here, seeking answers; but it seems I cannot find anybody who's case is being processed in Paris as well.

I think 95% chance these might be good news, we are very hopeful. However, you always wonder, what if it went wrong.

Is there any other apllicant in the same situation, wheather in the Paris embassy or not?

Thank you in advance, any answer will be much appreciated.

By the way, this community is so confy and helpful! I have enjoyed reading the threads. Way to go!

Hi DopaP,

It would be better for other members to answer your question if you could kindly share the whole timeline.
When did CPC-M approved?
Did they request PP? when?
Is it spouse sponsorship?

CPC-M = Case processing center- Mississauga.
PP= Passport

I am not too familiar with paris office but I would suggest you to keep an eye on your email as well as mail. They would send you a letter/email suggesting what to do. like sending your PP to them.

Hello again,

Thank you very much for your replies.

The CPC-M approved Oct-10.
I haven't heard anything about the PP.

When I applied for the student visa they would send you the letter of approval that you would be requested to present before an immigration officer at the border. I was expecting that, holding a citizenship that does not require visa, that would be the case for the Spouse Sponsorhip as well.

Does anyone think it smells rotten or it shoudl be easy going? I have no nails left as of now... I am so nervous, I am positive that the regular mail will take very long (about 2 natural weekdays) to be received. Darn.

Hi Doda,

CPC-M just means the Case processing Centre in Mississauga, so you answered ND's questions )

I was expecting my Visa Office (VO) to take up to 7 months based on the published timeline, however I knew some others through my VO had been processed quite quickly. 2 days ago I got confirmation my VO had received and started processing my application for residency (sponsorship approved 8 November). I got a request (PPR) for my Passport (PP) yesterday, which generally means it's all but approved. If they have your email address they will email you the decision letter, if not it will be in the post. You could try contacting them, but not sure if they will respond very quickly. There is an official link to contact VO's on the processing times page for stage 2 processing of the Citizenship and Immigration (CIC) website.

Goodluck, I hope you hear good news soon!

I'm almost convinced it will be good news, as I received my PPR very quickly, so I think you will be sending off your passport (or copies) as soon as you get the letter.

I am the same, Visa exempt country and my letter says to send copies of ALL pages of my PP, but not to send PP itself. They will issue a document (COPR I think) to present to Immigration officer at the border.

Thank you so much, easykiwi, for your reply. It has been very helpful.

I have to confess that I am at a loss regarding the passport issue. There is no trace about any request on the document. If you already filed all the pages of the passport are you requested to do this again? How odd. I feel very rooky again, this is the first time I hear about sending the passport. However, I feel not as dizzy knowing that they would require solely the copy!

It is refreshing to hear that there is actually a resource appointed to recieve our trying-to-contact-you-guys information at the office. I will surely do that tomorrow. I am not 100% positive that they might have my email, as the decision made in Missisauga was reported to my husband's email, but Paris' one was sent by regular mail.

Again, it is a very important information you are providing.

PS: way to go, kiwis, I enjoyed very much the rugby finale! (I am assuming you are New Zealander?).

Doda,

You will get a letter from your visa office guiding you what to do next. As easykiwi said, you wouldn't be required to send PP since France is visa exempt country. Just relax and wait :D

Hello all,

Firstly my heart goes out to all of you with family in the Phillipines affected by the storms and flooding, you are in my prayers.

Second, I just want to say I hope everyone else receives their PPR as quickly as possible. I know I'm very lucky to have received my PPR very quickly, especially as so many of us waited almost 3 months for sponsorship approval, and I know so many of you are away from you loved ones. I feel blessed that I will be able to travel soon to be with my father in law and family before his illness takes him. I hope with Christmas almost here that all the Visa Elves and Angels will be able to grant everyone their Christmas wishes, as they have done mine.

I'll keep you posted on the visa process from here. Good luck friends!

Haha, thank you Doda! Yes, I am kiwi and the rugby sent my heart beat racing! I felt so sorry for France as they played their best game of the tournament in the final but I am happy the AB's won as New Zealand would have been in mourning if we did not win, my little island nation would have been dark even now!

I received an email that basically said something like "please read the attached document", so no mention of PP at all in the email. Inside was the letter that requested PP copy. They ask for PP again when they issue the Visa so they can capture all of your information, as the PP or copy you send should be the one you intend to travel to Canada on, and some people prefer to get a new PP as the entry Visa expires either one year after your medical, or when PP expires.

I feel that your letter will be a good one.

Hello Easykiwi and NewDelhi2011

Thank you very much for your time and the trouble of replying to my requests. You sure have done the deed of the day as now I am more confortable thinking about our case. I actually feel as strong as ever.

Thanks to the suggest of Easykiwi, I have sent a request to the Embassy providing my e-mail address and requesting for it to be used as the primary means of communication from now forward. I hope this works a bit.

So now, as NewDelhi said, I will seat and relax. If you come to think about it, the hardest part is done (fingers crossed, pray not to have to develop a whole dile on appealing)

Thank you very much again to both of you. Your replies were very, very useful!

Oh, Easykiwi, regarding the rugby-NewZealand : i know it's big there! Hands down you guys were my favourite country for sure. I enjoyed the finale even though I have no clue of the rules. I am sure it is not the most poetic rugby match ever, but geez was it not exciting!
