i think that agent was just BSing so that Torontomo would stop calling. They're getting pretty annoyed with us

LOL they are getting annoyed with us?? Awww poor CIC. If they would just DO THEIR JOBS and PROCESS US they would never have to hear from us again. I've run out of terrible words to describe how I feel about THEM.

I dont think call agent is helpful. Specific case inquiry is better since it will be read by VISA office (maybe).
For my PR app, I hadn't called them once.

When I got married and emailed CIC that my martial status had changed. I had waited for 3 months without hearing anything. However, when I sent specific case inquiry asking them when they gotta request my spouse forms and documents.... after few weeks, I got replied back from cic that they don't any thing from me rightnow... blahblah... however the next few days I got email from cic the application kit to add my spouse.

also, i helped one of my friend to extend his PGWP. His first work permit was valid on for 10 months while he had done 2 years college program. At first, he kept contact cic call agent 3 times. first, he was told to wait untill jan 2016 they will contact him. 2nd call, they said they will contact him in April. 3rd call they said they will contact him in May. So I advised him to apply for a extension online. We wrote a letter explaining about the whole situation and attached with application. within 2 days, he got email update in his online account saying the application is canceled and they are reissuing him a new work permit because it was their mistake for his first work permit.

Spoke to a nice call centre agent. Said my app is complete just waiting on the final decision. Said it can be anywhere from 2-3months. :'(

Well atleast some hope for you. Contact MP they can get you PPR soon if all application is complete.

Yes I did many times. Got a standard reply to keep waiting.

Been there, done that. My application was complete way back in May and I contacted my MP in early June, but he hasn't been able to help get me PPR despite calling CIC several times. They lied to him twice (first they said end of July, then early August) and after that they've just told him the same "not sure, keep waiting" BS they've been telling us.

Security for 2nd time in progress now as per CIC Call center. I do not know how true they are.
