Attorney says not to submit "extra" supporting documents

Hi all,

I have "Checklist documents" ready but I wanted to also send Lease agreements, Utility bills and other "presence related" paperwork but my attorney is suggesting that these documents should not be sent as they are not asked for. your thoughts?

If they wanted it they would ask for it. They don't want it so they haven't asked for it. Why you are taking the word of "random people" on this forum over the IRCC and your attorney is beyond me.

Imagine, your the duty officer opening and screening all the application, you see all extra docs. It doesn’t help but will certainly hinder your time distinguishing the relevancy of all the papers in an application.

The half hour it takes you to process one application is now hour and half. You would have processed 16 applicants in your shift, but your now down to 5 per day.

No wonder ircc’s job creeps to a halt

Do not send anything that's, not on document checklist. They can pull up everything related to Immigration using your UCI#.

I actually send copies of my cope because it was listed on the instruction guide right after they updated the new forms but I guess they changed it later. I don't think that should cause any problem. They can always pick the ones they require and toss the excess out since they are just copies. I hope i am right lol

In my experiencd with IRCC, just send what the forms are asking for, man. Because you make a problem for you when you send more documents than requested. I did that, and my PR process was suposed to take 12 months, but they pushed it to 26 months because they began asking irrelevant question about the “extra” documents I sent without anyone asking them for. They were like: “yeah, we need to verify with your renter and make sure you were at the address... Just look suspicious that you sent all this documents, so we picked your application to be verified on the information throughfully...”

So, the learning experience from that for me was:

“Just answer what is asked to you and send only the documents the application ask”

Another of my friends was more unlucky and they send his application back because he sent documents that were not requested for, and he lost the processing fee money that time....

This made sense at the time due to the issues with IRCC documentation. However, the problem has since been rectified and these documents definitely aren't needed.

I am not encouraging people to send more than requested. I am just trying to clarify if I should be worried that I sent the COPR along with my application. Thanks

Any document you send needs to be CATEGORIZED and scanned and put in the system, even the envelop that you post your documents. If you make GCMS request and ask for all relevant doc, they send you everything. So, when an officer open you envelop and see to many unnecessary docs you will be put on hold and he will work and another application. They don’t slow down their process.

The processing junior officer is not the one who makes decision on your file so it will be useless to send anything that is not asked for.
