Sorry, I don't know, but I just want to wish you all the best.
Thinking that you didn't know that you had it then obviously it did not affected your daily life.
So, most probably there is nothing to worry.
God willing everything will be all-right.

Are you the primary applicant? You have had that as a child; has anything been done to it? Are you symptomatic at all? Ask your heart doctor because it probably is not life threatening if you have had it since birth and nothing has been done about it, and probably would not be grounds for medical inadmissibility. It certainly is not communicable.

As soon as I get Visa
If the defect requires immediate medical attention/surgery, then you case might be in trouble. If the cardiologist feels that you can have a good life for the next few years without much trouble, they might approve your visa. Canadian govt does not want people who would require expensive medical attention as medical services are free in Canada. Get yourself evaluated from a good cardiologist.

Best of luck.

atrial septal defect not affect the immigration status as it is :

1- not danger to community
2- not require any treatment

so do not worry about it

As you can see this was a very old posting. A relatively easy way to find more information is to click on the posters name and check their previous posts. You can also send a PM to the poster as it is likely they would never see your question so long after they have left the thread. Below you will see his response in August. Hope it helps.

I'm not an imm authority, but going by the first hand response from the poster I quoted, it sounds like you should relax and trust that the DMP has everything in hand. Good to hear that you have had your treatment and are doing well. I know it is ridiculous to tell anyone here "not to worry", but honestly, it isn't going to change the outcome. It will just make you feel bad while you wait. If you want to do SOMETHING, have you tried doing a search on the MAIN forum page for all references to ASD, top right corner, white box SEARCH.
All the best for a Happy, HEALTHY New Year!
