Hi all, I wrote my citizenship test, and passed recently. The interview went well. I was asked by the interviewer if I have my translation for the stamps on my passport, and I told her that I didn't know that I had to get them translated. Anyway, she said that just get the stamps translated, and send them to the centre asap attention to her name. I will send the translation soon, but just wonder do you or do you know anyone who was experienced something like this?

Thank,
BS

Bluesky did you have any travel?
The thing is I moved permanently to Canada 350 days after landing as I had to finalize my personal matters. But since I moved here I stayed 1100 days straight before applying for citizenship, and I only traveled for 2 weeks vacation after I applied to the citizenship.

You should have done it when you sent out your application. In the guide, it says like translate whatever documents in other languages, and that includes stamps on passport.

They only asked for biographical pages in the application.

This is wrong. You do not need to send the translation with your application. But on the invitation letter, it says bring all your passports and translate anything that is not in English or French. So you should have taken the translation with you to the interview. Not a big deal, just do certify translations of the stamps and send them over.

Agreed. You were supposed to get them translated for the interview.

Hi there, same thing happened to me. I passed the test, didn't get my passport translated so got asked to translate it and send it back. it has been a month since my passport translation received, any idea how long that will take to get back to me?
Bluesky2014, did they get to you yet with a time for your oath ceremony?

If the CIC employee did not say 'See, it says here to translate everything, you did not', then it is not required for the interview. They would not miss an opportunity to stumble someone over their insane regulations.

They did not ask me to translate any of mine, and apparently did not notice one stamp I forgot to include. But I have only passed the test, so will see if they ask me for more info later on :)

Hi All,

Do you also need to get those stamps translated that have a clear entry/exit dates in English (e.g. 12 Sep 2014 or 12-09-12) but also have some other foreign language text accompanying the stamp (for example country name?)

Please advise.

Thanks
