I’m a Canadian citizen, my husband is from Barbados. We married in February and haven’t been able to be together since I flew back to Canada in March. (COVID travel restrictions)

He cannot visit and be with me in Canada yet because he overstayed in Canada in 2016, he was issued an Exclusion order that turned into a deportation order and was banned for 1 year.
We have a lawyer whom applied for ARC & ETA and we are hoping to get a decision soon for him to be able to Return to Canada.

The application is sent to Trinidad via mail.
Our lawyer told us to remain patient and he won’t be able to give us an accurate timeline for the final decision.

Has anyone been through this process? With application via VO in Trinidad.

Any information would be helpful as we are anxious to be together again.

I’m hoping to fly to Barbados for the holidays :)

Unfortunately it's extremely difficult to guess processing times right now due to COVID-19. I would plan on it taking at least three months (although longer is obviously possible). Good luck and hope you get approval soon.
