You need an ARC to return since you are a failed refugee claimant. All failed refugee claimants require ARCs regardless of whether they left voluntarily or not. Someone who did not leave voluntarily also needs to repay the cost of their flight - you won't need to do this.Hi, I was a failed refugee claimant who left Canada after 30 days voluntary period. I left Canada via CBSA process. I paid the flight tickets.
How do I know I need an ARC? Is there any way I can request any agency in Canada to check on my status?

No - you still need an ARC to return. Your citizenship is irrelevant. Thanks, one more question - I changed m citizenship, and now I don't need visa to enter Canada, so do you think this might help me at the border without an ARC?
UK Citizen now. When I left Canada the CBSA officer at Mississauga who handled my case told me that I can return Canada anytime after 2 years, and if I need to return within 2 years, then I will need ARC. But I don't see a 2 year ban anywhere in the forum, I am also so confused. This is so confusing. How did you suddenly obtain a new citizenship? When did you apply for asylum? What is your purpose of your visit to Canada and what citizenship is your new citizenship? You can certainly be refused entry even if you arrive at the Canadian border given your history.
Thanks for your time. Also, do you know how can I know that I actually need a ARC? The fees is non-refundable, so Is there any way I can contact someone in the Immigration or do you have any experience or knowledge regarding that, please let me know. You need ARC no matter what.
As said above, if you are a failed refugee claimant - you need an ARC. There's nothing to check. Thanks for your time. Also, do you know how can I know that I actually need a ARC? Thanks, I think - then I will give myself a break, 400 CAD and more than 1 year wait plus police clearance certificates. As said above, if you are a failed refugee claimant - you need an ARC. There's nothing to check.
