ARC AND EXCLUSION ORDER

Hi. My exclusion order(1 year ban) ends on 14th of may this year. Will they still ask me for ARC if they will start processing my application after 14th of may?

once the exclusion order is up... it is up. you do not need to apply for an ARC unless you are trying to enter prior to it expiring. "technically" you can try to enter canada the day after it's lifted, just make sure to show plenty of ties to you home country, and proof your application is in process.

No you do not..I had a year order as well(2011)..and now able to go back and forth as of 2012..my husband just got approval to sponsor me a few days ago.

hey!!!! i had an exclusion order for 2012... and have been so nervous about how it affects our application. do you know where your application has been sent for a visa office???

It was sent to Ottawa..i was worried it would be sent to NY

i am so glad to hear that, because i have the same fear. fingers crossed!!!!

yep... we met in 2010 too. so funny. what do you mean, he is listed in your records?

i assume i have a file with the border crossing since i had an exclusion etc and my bf was there with me through everything and they have him listed as me staying with him at the time of overstaying..etc..

oh gotcha! yeah same here... i'm just glad to hear that another us applicant who had an exclusion order had their file transferred to ottawa. now, if we can just get that darn SA already!

i think it depends on the VO. So there's no way to know for sure... from what i have been told, an exclusion order doesn't necessarily mark your application as high risk. It's been well over a year since mine's been lifted, so i can't tell you for sure how your application is going to be handled compared to mine.

Hi guys me too - my husband was deported (no criminal records) back in Oct 2013 and we just got married April 26th, 2014. intially the wedding was to be in Canada when he was here but unfortuantley he had to go back and we had to move our wedding to his our home country. So my question is I am assuming his one year band will be done by Oct of 2014 and I want to start the sponorship lets say July 2014, do I have to wait until the one year ban is up before I start our paper work ?????

NO. U can submit your application in July 2014. Its not necessary the exclusion order to be over. But believe me when they will start processing your application, the exclusion order will be over. So! Go ahead and dont worry. My exclusion order end on 14th of may and i submitted my application in july 2013. So far..no news yet.

wow what a long process, and do you think he will have to apply for a ARC before returning to Canada because he was deported out or no because he would have done his one year ban by that time.

are you the sponsor or spouse and good luck with your case - this is so nerve wrecking for all of us.
