I really don't understand why they've got this selectively transparent system where people are able to check and compare each other's status and correlate them with the type and complexity of their applications. It just adds to the anxiety, especially since there is at times no logic to the things that happen. The officer handling a particular case may perhaps be on leave for 1-2 weeks. There should not be any tracker or gckey beyond submission and ADR.

Thanks to social media & forums like this where one can see how others are doing. Imagine if these forums/chatgroups were not there and no media to connect with other applicants, then as @iSaidGoodDay said we all will be having good days for the first 6 months in that situation .

Important to see is the benefits that we all are getting from the information shared in this forum.

It isn't a poor taste to tell that people need to mature.


We do our part here as alums. We don't downplay reactions. We downplay hyperboles. 2-3 months is not a long time. It takes you more than that to file EE profile (IELTS, ECA, etc).


Your life isn't getting altered in anyway while you wait. Settlement is where that part happens.

I said it's 'in poor taste' meaning it could be considered offensive by judging the maturity level of an absolute stranger on the internet. This isn't Reddit or some other toxic community, people are genuinely respectful and kind to each other here.

Obviously 2-3 months is not a long period objectively but you are failing to understand the months/years of waiting prior to submitting an application. Especially for outlanders with the prolonged gap in draws and mostly unattainable CRS cut-offs from last year. Each week that passes post AOR is an extension of that waiting time.

Finally, it is most definitely a life altering 'process' as I mentioned. Do you honestly believe that steps are not been taken right now to map out successful settlement? Not to mention the amount of mental exhaustion the waiting period causes to some. I'm going to echo what another member on here just said. Try putting yourself in someone else's shoes next time and consider their perspective or unique situation. There are no children on these threads, only mature adults who all want the same thing and have every right to express their concerns.

Frankly, don't care about his opinions, never have. He has never understood anyone else's pov and it's easy to preach patience when one's own process has hardly taken a month. Me and him had similar debate 2 weeks ago, following which he had called me a child and blocked me. Ironic, eh?

It is perfectly respectful to disagree with someone and say that SLAs are what you should expect and that 2-3 months shouldn't generate anxiety. It would've been disrespectful if we name call anyone. I don't see how that can be considered offensive.

I'm an outlander who was in the pool from 4 years. I have missed CRS cut-off very closely in 2020. It is hard to see the point here. I've seen more patience from Refugees tbh, and they are looking towards an actual big difference in their lives.

The "mental exhaustion" you talk about is nothing but immigration fatigue. Not over-worrying is what helps here. The more you worry, the less stamina you'll have to do the real work. What's worrying going to help you achieve with your processing times? What's bashing IRCC here going to help achieve with? Nothing. Mature people know how to handle when things are a little uncertain.

About people trying to settle - that's something very few do. People literally land with kids and find out months and months of day care wait lists, unable to land jobs for nearly a year, etc. This is instead what everyone should focus on is what's my point.

Wonderful deduction! You know, I have zero incentives to rage here. But I do believe in quality of immigrants as we represent each other. Hence I'm a bit direct. It is questionable on the quality of immigrants when they start expecting processing times on their own deduction and then start getting depressed because of it.

People here can really use the time to figure out their actual lives. But we are saying that the useless obsession over things we don't control is healthy.

I've met immigrants here who are starting new businesses, making career transitions, planning higher education, raising VC funds, etc. That's the best use of everyone's time.

In a country where COL is unsustainable for most, people are focusing on the wrong problems.

Yes. I don't agree on getting overly anxious and loosing hope until we get the final result !

Since no-one here, including yourself, have information on the logic on how the applications are processed by IRCC, people are comparing themselves against others with similar AOR's.

We have 80% applications to be processed in 6 months as SLA. For rest, 26 months.

Maybe there are some like this , but don’t have to shout out loud and hurt them! We may not know their situation/circumstances/ difficulties. Especially when we don’t know the logic of application processing . Who are we as applicants to judge the quality of the immigrant and pass unnecessary comments ?
