does anyone here know how to opt for the e-certificate?
Many offices are adopting e-certificates exclusively for oath ceremonies. If you prefer a paper certificate, they may reschedule your oath.

In other cases, if you haven't made a selection beforehand, you'll automatically receive a paper certificate. Some offices have adopted a more flexible approach, where the oath officer asks your preference during the ceremony and provides the certificate accordingly.

You will know about this in the oath email or you can discuss with oath officer during doc verification.

i was lazy is all. They have clearly mentioned in a couple of places that I can opt for an e-certificate during ceremony registration.

Hi,

After my in-person interview of September 26, I received convocation date for my Oath to be completed in Canada via Zoom on October 13. I have a few questions for this group and will be grateful to whomever can answer:

1. any chance one can do their Oath via Zoom outside of Canada?

2. I will be entering Canada with my PR and cut it virtually during the ceremony, any concerns in then exiting the country without a PR (= I have no need to revisit the country for an extended period of time any time soon)

3. can I apply for my first Canadian passport while abroad or some of the steps require in person certifications/witnessing etc. that must be completed within Canada? I am trying to kill two birds with one stone and avoid any further trips to Canada unless strictly necessary.

Thanks
Dario
were you able to attend the oath?

Hello guys!
Did anyone notice that processing time is now 17 months? (For those that were still waiting for 18 months to call IRCC).

I called IRCC 2 days back that my application has crossed 18 months but no update since then. I got a email from Ministry which i inquired a month ago and they said your application is in the inventory. :(

Hey everyone!
So... Called IRCC yesterday morning, the agent was somehow helpful. He said he couldn't find any indications that my application might be Non-Routine, but also said that my multiple GCMS notes requests (I've requested it two times) could have resulted in my file being on hold for a longer time.

After that, the agent added some notes to the officer working on my file stating that it's been over the processing time and said they could take up to 60 days after these notes to act on my file (not surprised).
