I received my pre arrival letter today

can't really say. Have been seeing applicants waiting for PPR, having received their pre arrival since October 20, 2021. I am waiting for the same since 24th November. so there is no specific timeline one could expect.
This is true. It seems like most in April went from pre-arrival to passport request within about 7-15 days. There are a few in there that have taken longer, but most seem to fall under this time range. I also wonder whether December Christmas breaks will effect this as many officers will likely return home to visit family during this time.
Hopefully everyone gets passport requests very soon
Have you inquired using the webform? Their letters typically say that if you have not heard back from there in 6 months, send them an email.
Yeah sent a webform but got their standard reply of the situation in Afghanistan. nothing more than that.

Pre arrival: 14th October,
confirmation from VFS that my documents were delivered to a VAC and in process on the 27th
PR: still not, my agent got an email asking for my receipt which I had sent, then asking for my passport (I’m not visa required), they then said all that was needed is my picture and photocopy of my passport. I’m not sure where to send again, or if VFS or the VAC is at fault for my documents not arriving.
