Hello Members,

My wife and I we applied for paper application for citizenship separately. This means we sent it as two separate posts. Both of us got the A0R on 22nd July. However the background verification of my wife is complete as of 17th September and mine shows in progress last updated on 17th September. Why is it different when both have our application filed by IRCC on 03rd June 2021. Any idea and should I be reaching out to the call center.

A response on this would be greatly appreciated.

You will probably need to submit Fingerprints, you need to wait, approx. 6-8 weeks from the ghost update, until you receive the email from Vancouver office requesting FP, they will provide instructions and documents required to present at the registered/certified agency.

Alright what are the reasons why a fingerprint is required for citizenship application? Sorry for asking too many questions. Appreciate your response.

Hi All,

I am a June applicant planning/waiting for my Test invite. I have moved to US now and have communicated this to IRCC.

When I get test invite, it says here on this link to contact IRCC and they will advise on next steps.

Has anyone been in similar situation?

Thanks,
Vishal

Once you will have the test invite, you need to send them an email with "Outside Canada" as subject. Don't worry, they will guide you how to proceed further.

How long it take to complete background check after AOR

Our test status was updated this morning. Two small updates:

a) "Citizenship Test status has been updated to In progress" - 28 September
b) "scheduled to take citizenship test online between Oct 4 and Oct 24" - 4th October (post dated update)

BG was completed already. Rest of the boxes except Citizenship Ceremony are "in progress".

No update on ECAS.
