I found the below and it confirms that Security checks are perform by a different agency, so what the agent said is correct, no need for FP.

• The application is sent for background checks
  • Criminality checks are done by RCMP
  • Security checks are done by CSIS
  • GCMS checks are done by IRCC

Now the question arises how much time will they take to complete the BG check if they already started processing it since Sep 9th? Also if the file is already with the local office can I now expect to get a test invite or it won't come until the BG check is completed?

If it is a paper application, you will probably receive the test invite until BG has been completed, also I noticed that you are in Edmonton, another Alberta IRCC office that is working very slow, I am in Calgary, BG was completed for 3 family members on June 11 and mine Aug 19, since then I haven't had any news or communication from them, as per the tracker they are taking 180 to 270 days from IP to test, so we have a long way to go still.

What is "test interview date" in the shared excel file? I get to choose any day within a 2-week period to take the citizenship test online.

Is there a thread about the format of the online citizenship test?

For those who passed the citizenship test already, do you think reading the "Discover Canada" booklet would be enough for the test? (I already have one)

Are they using zoom or some other online platform for the citizenship test? (I am afraid to click onto the link from their invitation letter, I am not ready to take the test yet)

I know the oath ceremony is currently on zoom only.

From my own experience,I read the book few times and I did practice lots of these online quiz..they helped to memorize lots of things.
They have an online platform to do the citizenship test not the Zoom one.
It's important to be in quit place when you do the test,relaxed and to take a clear picture of your Id and PR card.
