They advised me not to panic yet, so I'll say the same to you. I submitted online application for just myself on March 4th, no update till now, no confirmation email, no AOR. Multiple web forms sent, only got generic responses

Oh Wow! Thank you for responding. you definitely have been waiting quite a bit longer than me so I will try to relax. This process is a bit frustrating though!

Husband got a ghost update today on the new tracker - could this mean they received his fingerprints and are now reviewing them to complete his bg check?

Background verification completed on September 1, Test invite received on September 22. Test window September 24 to October 14th.

My ECAS in process was July 23.

What does means the status changed from application "received" to "in-process" on old ECAS?

This means they have actually started to process your application at IRCC Sydney, they will initiate the BG check and after that is completed, you file will be transferred to your local IRCC office.
