Client Application Status
If you are online applicants and don't have access you can call IRCC and request to link your online application to ECAS, that is what some Online December 2020 applicants did, don't know if IRCC is still doing this.

I was able to register for an account just today morning. Is that mean my ECAS is in progress?

There are two different sites to check the status of your application:

Client Application Status (old ECAS), this will show as Application Received once you receive AOR and In Process when your file has been transferred to your local office

Sign in to your status tracker This is the new tracker, it will show your application is in Progress from the moment you receive AOR until the application is closed (finalized).

I received AOR on August 23.
