Guys have a question, we have applied outland but my spouse is here in Canada on a visitor's visa. Is there a way to get interview request in Canada itself?

No, but right now there are only 'virtual' (online) interviews, and not many of those. Make sure you are reachable by phone.

Have you actually received notice of an interview? Interviews are actually only used for a small minority of applications.

Yeah, we got a call yesterday from a Private number asking for clarification for if our application is inland or outland. So that they can accordingly process in in NS or ON office.

The question about getting an interview inside Canada popped in my mind after call ended.

On our experience, my husband (sponsor) got separate email that our application was transferred to Ottawa. He got his SA letter last Dec 3, 2020 and the letter of transfer last Dec 17, 2020. Some SA letter includes the VO where their application got transferred, some received separate email for that.

At what stage in the process does the file move from Sydney, NS office to Ottawa?

Does it move for all applicants?

At any rate probalby not worth worrying about interview at stage you appear to be at.

It moves from Sydney to some other visa office after AOR1/biometrics/sponsor approval. But you won't know right away which office.

Do not desperate, reach out to your MP if in need, good times are coming!!!

I got DM and pre-arrival like a week after my MP looked into mine, was going on 5 months without an update before that, funny how the timing works.

After 2 months since the transfer to Ottawa, I also contacted my husband's MP to ask for help. Week after that my ecas status changed to app received then back to in process few days after but didn't have the line 2 on my PA tab.
