do we need to send the photocopy of the passport of sponsor as well ? I dont see it anywhere in the checklist just curious
If you look at Page 4 under supporting documents required the sponsor, if the sponsor is permanent resident , copies of PR card are required
If the sponsor is Canadian citizen , must provide copy of one of the following
Canadian Citizenship certificate or card
Canadian passport showing number, date of issue and expiration it must also show photo, name and surname and date of birth

Page 5/10. SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS FOR SPONSORED PERSONS (PRINCIPAL APPLICANT AND ALL FAMILY MEMBERS)

1 . IDENTITY DOCUMENTS, TRAVEL DOCUMENTS AND PASSPORTS

You (the principal applicant) must provide the following (photocopies only) for yourself and your family members:

Most recently issued passport or travel document for you and all family members (who will accompany you to Canada)

• Include only copies of pages showing the passport or travel document number, date of issue and expiration, photo, name, surname, date

and place of birth of holder.

• If you are in Canada and/or have previously travelled to Canada, you must also include pages of any passport in your possession which

bear an entry stamp made by a Canadian authority.

• If you reside in a country different from your nationality, include a copy of your visa or residency permit for the country in which you

currently reside (e.g. United States Alien Registration card or “Green Card”)

• Please note that diplomatic, official or public affairs passports are not acceptable for an application for permanent residence in Canada.

Note: Although you do not need to have a valid passport or travel document when you submit your application, you must have a valid travel

document or passport to be able to travel to Canada and to be admitted for permanent residence. A list of acceptable documents is found in

subsection 50(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (http://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/sor-2002-227/

page-10.html#h-25). You will need to demonstrate that you hold an acceptable travel document or passport before we can finalize your application.

If you want to use your passport as the proof for your Canadian citizenship, then you'd need to photocopy it (it's what I used to show my citizenship). But there's no requirement for the sponsor's passport to be included otherwise.

My husband (PA) was requested for biometrics, we sent in our paymen/receipt the day they requested it which was over a week now. We never got a confirmation or have any directions since than and im noticing others that have have been requested biometrics got processed quite fast, in a few days. Any thoughts on this?

Or are we suppose to take our receipt and take it to a VAC to get biometrics done?

Do you mean that he was requested to pay the biometrics fee? I have seen it take some time to get the biometrics request after paying for it.

Yes he was just requested to pay the fee. So no further directions from there. I just noticed on the tracking sheet that most people were submitting biometrics shortly after request and getting approved few day post so im wondering if we did something wrong

AOR1 is a confirmation that your application was received and they are verifying Sponsors eligibility. The applications were returned for missing signature even after receiving AOR1.
