Question to anyone with children and received oath email.
Do the kids ecas update too has Decision made or only parents? My 3 kids have "in process" but my wife and I have DM a day after test and interview.
Yes, it was "in process" for my daughter but DM for my wife and myself. But when we came back home after the oath ceremony, ecas for all 3 of us became "Completed". The final line was "You became a Canadian citizen on March 11, 2020."

IRCC had cancelled test and oath from March 14th until further notice due to covid-19.

We missed the update posted by 'almeida'. We went _all_ the way to the test center 30KM from our house only to be turned back. The guy there said "we're sending out emails since yesterday night". Nope, buddy, that's a lie.

We're incredibly frustrated by the turn of events. We had spent the entire week preparing and my wife even took 2 days off work. We feel like we were completely let down by the system. They _could_ have made arrangements if they wanted to.

This info got pushed to me from IRCC tweet. I suggest everyone seeking info here to also follow IRCC tweets and receive their notofications

Its unfortunate they cancelled tests and oaths but hopefully they will recognize that in a few weeks, it will almost be a year and with that in mind they will reschedule everything asap. Just putting it out there so the Universe can absorb the info lol Manifestation!

Since no oath or test do you think they will process some of the other applications sooner. Still waiting after receiving CIT for US Foreign Travel. Was not sure if they were still allowed to work or could work on anything remotely.

Hi, the processing time for Citizenship grant is stated 12 months on the IRCC website and for Citizenship certificate (proof of citizenship) it is stated 5 months. So overall we have to wait 17 months to be able to apply for Canadian passport?
Can anyone explain what happens between the time we are granted citizenship to the time we receive proof of citizenship? I am wondering why it takes 5 extra months. Thanks!

No proof is different, as it involves cases when the person could be Canadian by descent, so you’re just applying for a verification of status. This takes 5 months.
If you’re applying for a first time grant of citizenship after completing necessary requirements as PR, the average processing time is 12 months, you will receive your citizenship certificate at the end of it.
Hope this helps.

Congratulations! I know the oaths are cancelled until further notice, but for future reference. The web site does not mention the invite for the oath? Did you receive this by email, but no update in ECAS?

Hello, quick question, your step #4 was that for your fingerprints?
