Hi kray1986
Congratulations on becoming Canadian, as yesterday you might have taken citizenship oath. Will you please share whether there was any fear of Coronavirus among participants or organizers. I am sure the ceremony might have been concluded with utmost zeal and happiness. without any impact of coronavirus. Kindly share how many applicants took oath along with you and at which locations.

I attended test yesterday with around 80 people in the Scarborough centre and many more that came in for oath ceremonies. People in for test were nervous about the test and people in for Oath were well dressed and super excited. However no one wearing masks or too concerned about crowd.
I did not see anyone looking sick or with symptoms. All I can say is use sanitizer, wash hands more often and do not touch your face.

I understand your concern but hopefully people who have flu stay home & get a new date for their tests. i guess these locations are still a lot safer than public transport.;)

Hello everyone,

I am one of the April 2019 applicants. Unfortunately I didn't pass the test in Nov 2019 and I have been waiting for the re-exam notice. So far it's been 3.5 months but nothing yet. Here is my timeline on ECAS:
  1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on April 25, 2019.
  2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on July 16, 2019.
  3. We started processing your application on August 27, 2019.
  4. We sent you a notice on October 31, 2019 to appear and write the citizenship test on November 21, 2019 at 1:02 PM. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us.

Hi. We have had our test at the Scarborough centre today (Mar 10). We've got 20/20 and 19/20, respectively. We have been asked to take the oath tomorrow (Mar 11). So, decision is made. Admins, please update the April sheet. Thanks.
