Congrats Hannah, Can you please tell me what happened with you after you passed the test? Did they inform you about the Oath ceremony? I succeeded in the test then they never told me anything and I am waiting for the notice and it has been about 40 days now? any ideas?
There can be a significant delay between Test and Oath ceremony. I cleared the test in August and I am waiting for even the Oath email even in November.

Hi Team,

After a long wait, my application status turned to "In Process"
Please update my details in the sheet.

Hi all,
Question to those who have already had the oath ceremony: did they ask you to show them your passport or just a photo ID when they verified your documents ?
I need to renew my passport while I am waiting for the oath ceremony but I don't want to be stuck having no passport to show at the ceremony in case they invite me while my passport is being renewed.
Thanks !

Thanks ZiZoOoOo, they just told us that we passed the test and the Oath Ceremony will be like 2-3 months after. I checked our application status last Monday Nov 25, 2019 and it's already Decision Made and then we got the email invite for the Oath Ceremony on the same day Nov 25, 2019 for Dec 19, 2019 schedule.

I haven't checked our status since we took the test and I don't know when was the exact date our application changed to Decision Made. Once your application changed to Decision Made, I think you just have to wait for the invite.

Hope this helps.

yes they asked to see the passport and the originals for ALL documents submitted with the application, i used my passport and driver's license.
go ahead and renew your passport, you don't have to send in the old one until you pick up the new one.

Thanks for your feedback. I will renew beginning of Jan. couldn't get an appointment before that at the consulate. Maybe I will have the oath before that but I doubt it.
I am not sure how it works at the French consulate, if they keep your passport while you wait for the new one. Hopefully not :)

I just renewed my UK passport. Can't do it in Canada for the UK and you have to send your old passport back to the UK before they will issue a new one. Was really worried about this as I haven't been invited for my test yet and I know I need my old passport to show them. Decided to risk it anyway.
Received my old and new UK passport back today. Process only took two weeks! Good luck with yours.

Hi,

I've been a serial lurker on these pages. Below is my timeline (single applicant, Scarborough IRCC) to help those still waiting for their test invitations.

Initial citizenship application sent - Feb 13

Application returned due to incomplete form

Complete application re-sent - April 24

Received AOR - July 12

Application in process - August 23

Citizenship test invitation received - November 18

Citizenship test - November 28

Oath ceremony - November 29

I know this could be an anxiety inducing process. But the test is pretty straightforward, if you read the booklet a couple of times. Also suggest you go through the Toronto Public Library practice test found here : https://www.torontopubliclibrary.ca/new-to-canada/citizenship.jsp It pretty much covers everything.

Good luck!
