Hi everyone,

I have submitted an online application for Canadian Permanent Residency through Express Entry profile in Provincial Nominee Program stream on April 2018.

Currently, I am on Open work Permit and work in Canada. My current work permit is valid up to January 2019. I wish to apply for a bridging open work permit to cover the probable gap that might arise between January up to the final decision on my PR application in case my PR application is decided after January.

I have my BC provincial nomination letter which does not have employment restriction ??? and my PR acknowledgment of receipt letter (AOR) as support document for my bridging open work permit application.

Do you think If I need BC PNP work permit support letter as well for bridge open work permit application? I think I don't need it since according to
BC PNP this letter is for a closed work permit and cannot be used for OWP. --- THIS HERE IS AN EMPLOYMENT RESTRICTION!
I can give you my opinion, with the caveat that I am less familiar with PNP streams, so hopefully someone who knows more will also step in.

And you haven't indicated which EEBC program you applied through, so it is not clear if you are expected to stay with the same employer. Your statements above RE no restriction vs closed permit contradict each other.

When you apply through a PNP stream, you are saying you are going to live and work there. So now IRCC puts location restrictions on BOWPs issued to those under PNP streams. If you were sponsored by an employer, you are expected to work for that employer. These are both employment restrictions. It appears that the letter you have is intended for you to be able to apply for an LMIA-exempt closed work permit.

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/work-canada/extend-permit/bridging-open-work-permit.html
"If you applied through the Provincial Nominee Program and have employment restrictions as conditions of your nomination, you can’t get a bridging open work permit."

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/foreign-workers/provincial-nominees-permanent-resident-applicants/bridging-open-work-permits.html

"For certain employer-driven streams in the PNC, the nominating province or territory may impose employment restrictions on a successful nominee until the person becomes a permanent resident. If employment restrictions are imposed, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will not issue an open work permit to the foreign national under the bridging open work permit (BOWP) Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) exemption."

So, if you apply for a BOWP, I don't think it matters whether you include the letter - IRCC will already know whether there are restrictions and whether you are eligible. So if you want to stress for the next couple of months, by all means, apply for the BOWP, and let us know how it goes. Otherwise, apply to extend using your letter and LMIA-exempt status.

Thanks for your answer.
I got BCPNP in skill immigration stream, but since I am currently on OWP (from my husband status) and working for my employer, I did not need my employer to obtain LMIA for me, this is why my PNP-skill immigration does not have employer restriction.

I have not received work permit support letter yet. I ordered it 2 weeks ago and it would take at most 3 months to be issued. The reason why I asked for work permit support letter was that my PNP nomination expiry date elapsed on August 1st.
I walked to BCPNP office to get more information about the letter and they told me that the work permit support letter has employment restriction! This is why I got confused. My PNP nomination does not have employer restriction, how come the work permit support letter would have!
So this is why I believe I don't need that letter to apply for Bridge Open Work permit and even if I include it, it would mess up with my BOWP application. To my logic, work permit support letter is needed for nominees whose nominations have employment restriction and can't apply for BOWP so in order to extend their permit they use support letter. I can apply with AOR and the expired PNP nomination although my nomination expiry date elapsed (since the expiry date was after the date I submitted my PR application).

But I want to make sure my understanding is correct then apply for BOWP.

Hi guys,

I've searched the forum for this question a lot and found various answers.

My question is, I have trips back and forth between my country of origin(India) and my current country of residence(UK) in past- 2010 till 2014. Do I need to mention them in the travel history part or not?

I have no idea... I've never heard of any DUE DATE TIMELINE for permanent residency beside the 6 months mark.
I also received this email from IRCC after I spoke with the Officer :

Good day,

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

We are pleased to confirm the reception of the following document:

  • explanation letter.pdf
We have forwarded it to the responsible office for their consideration.

If further information is needed during the processing of your application, the responsible office may contact you.

We hope the information provided is helpful in assisting you with your enquiry.
In my opinion, you should wait for some time and in case, there is no change in the status of your CIC account, please order second GCMS notes. (Ordering second GCMS notes has helped expedite the PR process for few in this forum)

Hello,

Seniors, I kindly need your assistance on the following:

I applied for PR under Express Entry, CEC on April 7, 2018 and I am still waiting to get my PPR. I received the GCMS notes on Sep 26, 2018. After its careful review, I need some clarification on the following:

Questions:
  • What might be the reason for my ‘eligibility’ status mentioned as ‘review required’? Could it be related to the offer of employment as in one of the activities my offer of employment has a status of 'review required' as well?
  • What does ‘CB01126’ and ‘AF01137’ mean under categories of 'assigned to' and 'assigned by'?
  • What does ‘Name: CIO-EE-11pt2 decision’ mean?
  • What does ‘Sub-activity/Activity type: 11.2-EE MI’ mean?
  • Under the freshest summary notes of the report it is stated that ‘Text: A11.2 Case Processing Agent Lock-in Date:...-EE CEC Having analyzed this application based on the documents submitted by the applicant and the information contained in the file, I make the following recommendations. SUMMARY NOTES: REVIEW REQUIRED (ARRANGED EMPLOYMENT) FOR STIPULATION THAT A VALID JOB OFFER IS REQUIRED FOR AT LEAST ONE YEAR AFTER VISA ISSUANCE. LETTER OF OFFER STATES EMPLOYMENT WILL END ON MAR 31, 2019 UNLESS A NEW CONTRACT IS OFFERED. LETTER DATED APR 1, 2018 STATES EMPLOYMENT WILL CONTINUE FOR AT LEAST ONE YEAR AFTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE VISA IS ISSUED. EDOC... A11.2: Review required R87.1: CEC MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS. What does this mean? Is the review required because my employer committed to continue hiring me for at least one year after PR visa is issued in the letter instead of a real job offer? Should I get an actual job offer with these statements in order to fasten the process?
  • Are the activities done as per the GCMS report come in sequence and can be reopened for additional reviews? On the report I received, seems like one activity first seems to be completed/passed but at the later thread of activities opens up for additional reviews? Is this normal?
Appreciate your support on this!

First of all do not panic... lets look at it rationally and resolve this...

The above review is concerning the document you submitted to claim the 50 points for the job offer and most likely your Canadian work exp...
- Did you submit a Letter of Reference to claim the Canadian work experience and the job offer ? or was only a job offer letter was submitted ?
- Did your offer letter had a statement about the job offer valid for 1 year after the PR was issued ?
- Did you also submit payslips, T4's, NoA to support your work experience in Canada ?

  • To confirm my 1-year Canadian work experience (Jan, 2017 - until my AOR date April 7, 2018), I provided an Employment Record letter from my organization. I also submitted a job offer valid from April 2017 until March 31, 2019 along with a letter from the same employer committing to continue hire me for at least one year after I will be issued with PR. Do I need to get an actual job offer instead of a letter with these commitments in order to fasten the process?
- Did your offer letter had a statement about the job offer valid for 1 year after the PR was issued ?
  • This statement was not mentioned in an actual job offer but instead in a letter from the same employer. This letter was attached to the actual job offer with an explanation letter.

- Did you also submit payslips, T4's, NoA to support your work experience in Canada ?
  • No, I did not provide such documents.

Would appreciate your further advice on my case!

Did you file the application yourself or was there a consultant/lawyer supporting your application ?
- You need to get a letter of reference from your employer on the letter head and signed/stamped by responsible manager or HR or whosoever is authorized signatory.
- The letter needs to mention you start date, salary, number of hours worked per week, job designation and job responsibilities.
- The letter needs to mention this statement "The job offer also needs to mention that this offer will be valid for one year from the the time you are issued a PR."This offer will be valid for one year from the the time you are issued a PR."
- Along with the above letter of reference you need to include first 3 months and last 3 months salary slip(this is not mandatory in usual cases, but hey you are in review required mode, you need to provide water tight documents), T4 and NoA.
- Upload these documents in a pdf and raised a Case specific enquiry (CSE) through the webform: https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx
- Once you upload, wait for around 2 week and then request for GCMS notes....

hi guys..completing my 180 days this 8th Oct and still waiting for the gentleman JE10743 to pick my application..

called CIC on 1st Oct and got the same answer that everything looks fine and you should wait for the 6 month time which will be actually 11th of Oct..

discussed with my consultant and was told to raise a web form one the 180 days are over...but as I see people who have raised web forms are also not seeing any update...

do we have the same scenario with Mar and earlier applicants...? earlier we could see PPRs being given in batches...is it the same trend once we cross the 180 days mark or one in a while there will be update in one of the older files etc?
