I got this letter when I went in to check the status of my application

- Invitation to Pre-arrival services - October 31, 2017 02:45:49 a.m
Does anyone know what this letter indicates in terms of where I am in the application?

My details are the followings, my application has been at the HongKong office since mid June.

Yeah, depending which VO is more appropriate, Mississauga chooses the VO. So your GCKey account, under background check does it currently say ' We are currently processing your background check. We will let you know if additional information is needed' ?

It might be a pre departure seminar, I had one when I was sponsored and they put a sticker on your passport at the end of the seminar.. idk i think it is mandatory.

Most of the times they send this along with PPR but in your case, it was a bit earlier since your background check has not been started. I think it's good news you received this message about pre arrival services. So in my opinion your eligibility has been passed. That message does not has to do about an interview.

When the background checks starts (anywhere from 2-3 months after AOR2 date), you will receive an email letting you know. When did CIC Mississauga first receive your application?

Yeah it could be true. My spouse VO never sent this email so it could be VO dependent.

Hey 325, Thanks for your insight into this. Could there be a possibility that my application has already been passed and background check has already been completed, it's just that they did not update my status online? LOL, I know I'm kind of delusional here but at this point, I'm just looking for any kind of positives in this.

Just to give you my rough timeline -
- Application mail to Mississauga office on April 18
- Acknowledgement of receipt on May 10
- Medical passed on May 18
- My application was then sent to the HongKong office shortly after (either late May or early June)
- Complete radio silence until today.....

That's good news then. Yeah as I mentioned it depends on VOs and different countries. My wife didn't receive this invitation.
