When did you apply?

Dear Members,
I have a question, when your file is being transferred..
1) what is usually expected.. i see a line on my ECAS that they have started process the application in _____, Does that mean its an AOR2? (Or i shall receive that in few days)

2)Will they email for background check?

3)How many days will they on average take to the BG check...

Same here ....2 months since AOR 2 (june 19) and bgc still ' not applicable :(:(

Hello Folks,
File transferred to NDVO on 13th June; ECAS showing "In Process", started processing file on 19th June but still no AOR2, yet. Any suggestions? I called IRCC and they just mentioned it is with NDVO and In process. Should I send a CSI to NDVO or request GCMS notes? Thanks!!

AOR2 june 22 nothing since

what does the 3rd line mean in ECAS?

Officially one month today since AOR2 and BGC still "not applicable" ... (sigh :().
I've been waiting since July 4, and they haven't even started the background check for me.

Looks like ur June 19 is a AOR2....

FYI

1. When the application gets transferred to the VO, the following changes happen:

  • GC Key My CIC Account: The additional files that are uploaded may change into "Being Reviewed".
  • ECAS: Any new sentence added?? We started processing your application on MMM DD, YYYY.
  • Will the Principal Applicant get an email? Yes

2. When the background process turns into "In Progress", what are the changes in the following?
  • GC Key My CIC Account: Background Check - In Progress
  • ECAS: Any new sentence added?? No, as per my knowledge none.
  • Will the Principal Applicant get an email? As per GCKey message you should, some do some don't.
  • Time for change of BC into Progress after AOR2 is about 2-4 months.
3. When the decision is "Made", what are the changes in the following?
  • GC Key My CIC Account: Final Decision - Your application is in progress. This should change to, in theory, Decision made. However, it may change only once after COPR is received.
  • ECAS: Decision Made - Yes should say Decision Made under PR Application
  • Will the Principal Applicant get an email? Once again I think depends largely on the VO. I have read some people got it, some didn't.
4. When the ppr is sent, what are the changes in the following?

  • GC Key My CIC Account: Final Decision - Your application is in progress.
  • ECAS: Decision Made
  • The Principal Applicant gets an email requesting his/her passport. Yes, it will include a sort of a form I believe that needs to be uploaded or something again depends on many factors. If the PA is from a visa exempt country like the US for instance then no PPR request is made, COPR is sent. Again as per my knowledge from this forum.
5. When the passport is returned with stamping, what are the changes in the following? At this point some people have seen a conclusion to BGC and Final decision etc, some claim they didn't see it. But who really cares at this point right? You have what you needed :)
  • GC Key My CIC Account: Final Decision - Approved
  • ECAS: Decision Made
  • The Principal Applicant gets his/her passport stamped with Permanent Resident Visa.

1) Not all visa offices send AOR2 emails (I know London does not), so that line is like an AOR2.

2) No, I did not get an email and mine has started.

3) There's no specific amount of time, sometimes it takes a few minutes (since they sometimes don't update when they actually start) and sometimes it can take months. Part of the background checks are done by a third party (not Canadian gov) so they don't have a fixed time.
