Hi..

My file has been transferred to VO, but prior to the transfer I was not requested a medical check. Is this common?
I think it depends on the VO. My husband is in Nigeria and he hasn't been asked for a medical even though our file has been transferred also.

It depends from VO to VO, so as far as common goes, it is common for some people. The request will come later on.

Hi all. My husband is in Nigeria, which I guess is considered a 'red flag' country. Our application is now at the Accra VO. Just wanted to get some thoughts on if we should send in additional proof of our relationship even though we haven't been asked to do so. On one hand we supplied the proof as requested and they are trying to speed up processing times by limiting what they receive, but on the other hand it takes them a month to get documents when requested so I'm wondering if we should get a head start on suppling what we have? Had anyone heard of others sending more proof in without it having been requested? Thanks for thoughts on advance.

Being proactive is always good. Having the additional documents ready to go as soon as they request would be my suggestion. Sending them documents which they have not requested might get ignored or delay your application even more. You wouldn't want to feed them with extra stuff.

Can anyone here tell me how long it will take from a file transferred to VO to the end? Roughly how many months?

Thanks so much.

Again it would depend on the specific VOs and how deep they need to investigate respective applications depending on their sensitivity. Anywhere from 2-3 months.

It's a positive point that ur visiting ur spouse...im pretty sure u don't need to inform Cic (U don't have to unless u want to).... but it's def a plus point!
And also, I'm quite positivs that our applicants will get visa before December, it's taking 4-6 months I heard.

I have a question and I am sure you guys would have come across this scenario.

I am a PR and as you all know, my spouse's sponsorship application is under process. I hope it gets done before December of 2017. Anyway, I am planning to visit my family in India for 3 to 3.5 weeks between December 2017 and Jan 2018. Yes, it is a vacation and since it is during Christmas, I travel to India for a month.

I am wondering if this impacts the spousal sponsorship application. Should I inform CIC about my trip which I am happy to do? Also, I have every reason to get back to Canada because of my job.

Please let me know if any of you have any info. I called CIC today. 32 minutes wait time :([/QUOTE]

It wouldn't hurt but as someone mentioned earlier, only send along docs when and if they request them. So my suggestion is to take lots of pics on your trip, save your receipts, boarding passes, itineraries etc. But do not send them unless they request more proof of relationship. You as a sponsor are under no obligation to inform CIC of your travels.
