Could you share a screenshot on how the background in progess should look like?
Hi there,

I'm sorry I can't really seem to know how to insert a screenshot, but the background check line on the GCKey account reads something along the line of 'we are processing your background check or your background check is in progress'. I can't quite remember and now it shows
Background check Your background check was completed.

2nd set of GCMS notes. Got them 2 months after applying. Long story.

Anyway Eligibility still not started. However, our notes were generated on Oct 13, and on Oct 13 our file location changed from Put away to Case Analysts. Not sure what that means. But my guess is someone picked it up the same day our notes were generated. Will eligibility be worked on now? Can anyone comment who had a similar Case Analysts location?

hi group members, i want to request all users not to move the rows in the timeline sheet. timeline sheet is connected to summary sheet. if u move it ,the ref# changes that's why u will see some people who can't get the correct day calculations.
thanks,

So frustrated of waiting :(
When it was 18 months process, it was taking applicants average 8 months. And now it's 12 months process, it has already started 7th month and bgc is still not applicable. ☹:(

I totally feel the same way. Our bgc hasn’t even started and our medical passed in may. It’s so frustrating

Hi there,

Hi Oulrish or anyone else who knows about this,

I applied on APril, 2017, along with my wife's PCC. It has expired now, since it has been 6 months already. I got a fresh PCC again, how should i submit it to CIC. It has not been requested yet. But i just wanted to save some time later in the fudture. Any ideas what should i do?

Thanks,

RJ

Majority of ppl s pcc have been expired including me as we r April applicants. But everyone suggested that we should submit only if they ask. It's good u have it ready but don't need to send it unless they ask for it.

Okay thanks, but have we noticed if anyone still got PPR even after expired PCC?

Hey Raj_g and @Sandhukang

As far as I know, there is no validity for a police certificate. Please allow me to explain this.

Police verification document is issued to verify that the applicant has no/some criminal records from the age of 18 till the issuance date. For April 2017 applicants, the issuance date may be in late April 2017 or may 2017. For instance, let's assume the PCC issuance date is May 05, 2017. so there is no point of re-issuance of PCC as it has already validated the period between the applicant's age of 18 till the issuance date. Having said this, please read below.

If CIC requests another PCC, it will be for the following reasons:
a. It cannot retrieve/verify the first one due to unexpected errors such as system error. Even here, they may ask you to resubmit the original one.
b. The application has taken over 12 months to process
c. It may ask verification for the period from the issuance date till date, ie May 05, 2017 - Oct 23, 2017.
  • This can happen only if the applicant has moved to another country from the country of residence and stayed over 6 months.
  • they found something extremely fishy in the security checks
  • NOTE: These two scenarios are highly unlikely for anyone's case.
Hence the question of a new PCC will be highly unlikely unless your file details are lost or the applicant becomes a person of questionable character or move to another country.
