Same here. I sent mine to Mississauga as well and I'm still waiting. Also unsure whether I will receive the email or my spouse.

What address you have to put if you are still in Canada but after applying (outland) go home to wait for PR? Can I put my Canadian address check that we currently live together and send it to outland mail box?

The guide states:

If your spouse or common-law partner leaves Canada before becoming a permanent resident, he or she may not be allowed to come back. This is especially true if they need a Temporary Resident Visa to enter Canada.

That's if you've applied inland and have stated a Canadian address. So if you are planning to leave Canada it would be best to apply for 'outland' and put your home address over there. You wouldn't want you application to be cancelled and have to reapply.
