The PR status on our ECAS says in process and we received an email stating our file has been transferred to the new delhi VO. Havent received AOR 2 yet and the 4th line in our ECAS hasnt been added yet either. Is that possibly a system glitch? We got the file transfer email 2 days ago

It took a week for the second line to show up for us after it was transferred, it could take longer than that so don't worry

Ladies and gents, looking at the status of my application below please advise if :
1. it is reasonable to say that my app. is "in process" even though my ECAS only says "Application received". Not yet as ECAS will say "In Process"
2. These status below is the same like the ones who have received AOR2 ? No, I have received AOR2. Background Check is "Not Applicable" now.

Application status : We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you.
Review of eligibility : We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.
Review of medical results : If you need a medical exam, a message with instructions will be sent to you.
Review of additional documents :The additional documents you provided have been uploaded.
Interview : You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes.
Biometrics : We do not need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes.
Background check : Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check.
Final decision: Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.
Please check my replies to your queries inline in the quote above. Also, here is how it got processed for me till step 4. I hope step 5 onwards, it is how I have listed :)

Assuming your file is yet to be transferred to your relevant VO and Medicals is yet to be done as per your signature

1. Complete the medicals
2. Medicals received and/or Medicals Passed status update in ecas and MYCIC a/c
3. After 2-3 days, You will get an email saying that your file is transferred.
4. Your spouse or principal applicant will get AOR2 from the VO. Probably 5-10 days from the file transfer notification. In ecas, it will state that they started processing the principal applicant's application with date of AOR2. In MyCIC, Background Check will turn to "Not Applicable".
5. Your background check will turn to "In Progress" after 1-3 months from receiving AOR2 in MYCIC and in ecas, not too sure what will show here.
6. You may receive decision made on the same day of background check in progress or probably, 10-15 days from background check in progress. In ecas, decision made for Principal applicant and in MyCIC, Background Check, review of eligibility, Application Status, Final Decision, and other items should show done/completed/passed/approved
7. Passport Request for stamping with/without photos. Probably 10-15 days from Decision Made or on the same day.
8. Visa issued with validity of your medicals. Probably 10-15 days from receiving your passport
9. Landing
10. Yay!!!!

P.S. Hopefully no interview is required. Also, please check if biometrics is needed for the principal applicant's country. If yes, I suppose you will receive instructions. My spouse is in India and it is not needed

It turns in progress at receiving AOR2 not after few months of AOR 2
Again, as I mentioned, I got my AOR2. And my background check is "NOT Applicable". So in my case, it is definitely not at receiving AOR2 and As-is for many people as I see from the Jan-April 2017 sheets. If it did turn "In Progress" for you, thats great :)

What we are here for is a little bit of support for each other and a lot of knowledge sharing. No worries, you are welcome! Again, whatever I share is applicable to my case and may be applicable to someone's else case too. Also, I have noticed in some cases, medicals were requested after file transfer to VO. So keep your fingers crossed!

Hey guys

My wife is pregnant and her blood test from clinic showed high thyroid levels. So We went to thyroid specialist and checked her thyroids level as well as she did untrasound to make sure her glands are fine. The specialist informed that her glands r find and her levels r ok if she is not pregnant but her levels r little off for a pregnant woman. So just to be safe, the doc perscribed pill for thirty days. We r informed that off levels among pregnant woman r very common and this is nothing serious.

Wife went for her IRCC Medical exam today.
Wife mentioned this to the exam doctor and the doc request for additional test for her thyroid.

Question is..
- thyroid levels r causes for pr refusal???
- will this cause longer processing of our application?
- who decides (IRCC or the doctor at medical exam) whether more tests r needed... application is refused..???

Thanks

No, a thyroid issue will not result in a refusal of your application. They look for infectious diseases or conditions that would cause an extreme burden on the healthcare system, like organ failures, etc etc.

Chronic conditions that require constant medical aid, hospitalizations, and support from the health care. Also, infectious diseases as KCWARD7 mentioned. Here is a link at CIC to get the complete picture http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/medic/admiss/index.asp

I believe motherhood is definitely not one of them :) Even if they raise questions, you can always write and explain your grounds. You and your spouse should be fine. I hope it is nothing serious and wish you the best!
