Thank you. Everything is in the hands of my lawyer, I like to believe that she knows what she is doing..
Ouch, a lawyer? For an American pr? Of course their are good ones but these pages are full of horror stories. American/Canadian applications are almost always easy and almost automatic. Keep reading this forum so you can tell if everything is going properly.

Thank you, I will !

Reading the latest posts I started wondering...I'm from a visa exempt country myself and I was hoping to go to Canada in November for good and wait for the PR over there. Hence, I'd only have a one way flight and no wish to get back, also no proof of it.
You think that won't be allowed?
I'm still hopeful I'll get at least DM by then. Would I be allowed to stay in that case maybe?

You might need proofs to convince them that you are going back in your country : a lease, a job, a child or a pet, a car, etc.
Also taking a round trip ticket would help, if you take the insurance with it, you can cancel the ticket after arriving in Canada. The border agent is going to ask you what's the purpose of your trip to Canada and for how long you will stay. It can be tricky.

I also think at least a return ticket is preferred.

Just sharing the update.

A background check is needed - just changed from Not Started to In Progress

Review of eligibility still in Progress

Hello all applicants,

Please advise I have applied my wife spouse case on 10th March 2016 and they started processing file on 22 April and estatus shows IN PROCESS and after that I haven't heard back and I am waiting for passport request But my two friends got there spousal visa approved even they applied in mid of April 2016.

Do I need to contact New Delhi visa office ? Please advise.

Thanks in advance

Hi everyone.
I applied family sponsorship from outside canada in April 26, 2016.
And it changed to "in process" from June 13, 2016.
Is there anybody who already get DM in here?
I'm just wondering when I can get DM.
Thank you and Hope everyone in here get DM ASAP!

Most DM's are for Ottawa applicants. look at the spreadsheet in my signature for a more detailed look at April applicants. Remember, it is different based on VO.

Finally an update at MyCIC! Background check is in progress! It's weird though. Medical and eligibility are review in progress as well still. I don't get it but that must be better than worse I'd hope.

Well when they sent us the passport request email, that info was in that email. I chose a different option however...

what did you chose if you don't mind me asking because I will be in the same situation; I am in Canada.

Just got PPR today.

Wish best of luck for everybody else waiting.
Relieved. What a tough time it was to wait.
