If you haven't received the GCMS notes after more than a month, what's the email you write to?

Same thing here: Sponsor side in eCAS changed to 'Decision Made'. Does this really mean that soon there would be a DM on the PA side as well? :/

It was just so update system wide on Ecas. Has no bearing on the time ahead before dm.

Have you sent Ankara VO your passport? Have they returned it yet? If so, how long did that take? :)
Yes, I have sent my passport to Ankara via an authorized representative. But it is the Islamic sacrifice eid or something and the country is in holidays for 9 days so let's see how it goes!

Hi,

It's been awhile. We are booking our tickets to land Jan 25. We have a cat as well. My husband is Italian. Normally Italians need an ETA number when travelling to Canada or the USA. I wonder if anyone can tell me if he will need an ETA even though he's landing.

Thanks!

Pretty sure he'll need an ETA as he will need one to get on the plane. Once he's a PR he wont need one, but until he is, any travel into Canada will require an ETA.

It's super easy to get and only costs $6 so in the grand scheme of things, its nothing really.

Thanks Gary. I just found this on the site (quoted below). If I understand correctly, they are saying her won't need it, but maybe we'll get it to be safe.

"I have a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (CoPR) and will travel to Canada. Do I need an eTA?
No. If you are from a visa-exempt country and have been issued a Confirmation of Permanent Residence document, you do not need an eTA.
If you are from a visa-required country, you are not eligible for an eTA. You have been issued a permanent resident visa in your passport for your travel to Canada.
In both cases, make sure you travel to Canada with your valid passport and your valid Confirmation of Permanent Residence document."

well there you go! :)
might be worth getting though just because airlines dont want to be liable for you not having the adequate eta's or docs and sometimes give you hassle about it if you dont have one. I was almost not allowed on my flight to canada a few months ago because i couldnt find my print out of my eta.

Personally I would get every document available!! Especially if it is not expensive. If we have learned anything over the past months let it be a complete lack of confidence in what they say are their rules!

Hello everyone !

I am going to apply for Spousal Sponsorship for my wife (living in Canada) through Out-Land sponsorship program (Family sponsorship plan).

I have a question concerning police certificate required from Pakistan.

During my Permanent Residence process in which my wife was added as a "non-accompanying dependent", my wife got her Open Work Permit approved and came to Canada. During the end of my PR process, 4 months ago CIC requested for my wife's recent Police Certificate from Pakistan, which we applied and provided. My wife has not left Canada since then.

Now the question is while Sponsoring my spouse now, do I have to get a new Police Certificate for her ? (Even though we had it issued 4 months ago and my wife has not left Canada).

My PR application took 17 months and CIC only asked for my police certificate 1 time in the beginning of my application. This would seem that if you remain in Canada, then you don't need to get a new Police Certificate every 11-12 months.

Any thoughts on this mater, your guidance will be very helpful.

Kind regards,

- Subtain
