YEEEEEEEESS! I finally managed to link my damn application with my CIC account. I thought I was supposed to say only 1 person (the principal applicant) was part of the application, but NOPE, had to say 2. Argh.
Well. Just saw I've passed my medicals!! I'm so fricking relieved. That was my biggest concern, since I was requested to get a psychiatric report done (it cost me fricking 1400$ O_O). So yay, Canada doesn't think me too crazy to enter Canada. Ahaha. Phew. *exhales deeply*

Congrats! Same here, I spent about the same as yours for the enlarged thyroid (which is so normal among women). *sigh*

Hey guys, some update and an important question here.

we just received an email from the Ankara embassy, stating that my wife's PR is approved and we should present our documents to get our PR visa in the passports. While it says the documents and the passports can be delivered in person or through an authorized representative, there is a third options which interestingly applies to us: Sending the documents to the Case Processing Centre in Ottawa if the applicant is presently inside Canada.

My wife is currently here in Canada with me, on a visitor visa that was just approved a month ago. I was wondering if any body has experience doing the same thing and can help me decide whether we can just save a lot of money by staying here and sending our documents to ottawa (the downside is we have to wait 3 months rather than just a few days) or is it better to go to Turkey in person and get the job done in a week (spending more money of course).

Also here is another other question: once we receive the PR visa, I think we should go to the border of Canada and get the actual PR issued. My wife has to go back to her country of origin to defend her thesis in a few months, so is it possible that once we get the PR issued, she goes back and I wait here until I receive her PR card in the mail, and then I take it to her country with me? Is there any problem with that?

May I ask if it's possible for you to share your timeline and whether your wife had an interview. Our visa office is with Ankara as well and I am sponsoring my husband. I haven't been able to find that much information about Ankara visa office but I would really like to know what we can expect from them in the future. Your help is much appreciated.

Sure thing. My application was initially received on April 24. I got sponsor approval a month later and then we got the passport request just last night. Very fast, straightforward. Also, no interview was requested.

I think that should be fine in relation to your last quetion about the pr card, but cant be certain. as for sending the docs to ottawa, id assume it would be ok, but as shes on a visitor visa, im unsure. either wait for another response maybe or post a question in the main thread may get a few more senior advice.

Same here, not changed for 5 weeks. Not sure if they are on summer vacation.

Interesting that this is happening is all visa offices. I guess they just don't update this. Kind of defeats the purpose of having online status when there is no update. My ECAS still says sponsorship approval in process when it was approved on June 7.

When I watched MYCIC though two trv applications it would go from no change to decision made in an instant. You had no clue as to what was happening with your file. Now I am watching it through this process and so far it is not much different. That does not mean that nothing is happening with your file. We received a request for additional information and yet there was no change to mycic. While I am on communication I will pass on my experiences with GCMS notes. On another thread I tried to tell people that not all that is happening is recorded on GCMS. In my work experience you did not officially record your notes until your final position is determined. Of course people argued with me and I racked up a few negative ratings but I will give you our example.
On our GCMS notes there is no mention of the need for the information they requested. They talk about other matter of fact issues but not this request. It is not an unusual request as it relates to proof of custody.
The less you record the less you have to divulge. I did it and it is common.
Sadly we are left to wonder in a vacuum, trying to anticipate their next moves and plan our lives. What a nightmare!

Yep. They don't want to put up too much info conveniently as that puts them on the hook. Online status is out of sync, GCMS notes takes 1 month. With my own PR two years back, my online status said "Decision made". I immediately applied for GCMS notes which said all approved. They sat on the application for 3 months before asking for my passport. Anyone else would be pulling their hair apart wondering if the application has been rejected.

Seems like they are all out of order. Damn this process is nerves killer.
They don't bother to change sponsorship status but most important PA process is silent for many months.
And I barely see any decision made lately.

@behruuz..how do you know it will take 3 months if you send your document to ottowa ?
